Viral campaign features future phone concept
Discover Nova Scotia (Canada) is using this viral video to pitch its 'wares' in a matter of speaking. The choice of a spoof futuristic phone, seemingly available to consumers now, seems an interesting choice of content.

As far as the video is concerned, it introduces a few of of the medium to long term technologies we might find cropping up in mobile devices. Above all, it introduces them in a way that is especially enticing to both business and ordinary consumers.

All in all, a very good job done toward demonstrating a glimpse into the future of mobile devices.

Experimental Touchscreen Has Physical Buttons That Can Pop Up, Disappear | Gadget Lab | Wired.com
In the search for the holly grail of touch interfaces, this concept takes the search for a solution to the tactile feedback problem a step further. The physical feedback on this touch enabled display uses a technique that is reminiscent of the air pockets introduced by the sneaker industry decades ago.
It yet remains to be seen if this idea will take of, for a number of reasons like ease and cost of production, the actual user experience and endurance to daily wear and tear as well power consumption. As nanotecnology and materials science progress I'm sure we will see more great ideas for physically deformable touch screen surfaces.
Using mind control to talk to machines
Going beyond the interface. This technology has tremendous implications on the future of HCI (human computer interaction). It may not be apparent how this technology may be used in conjunction with what we now call a mobile device but by the time this becomes mainstream a series of other technologies will give rise to products we cant yet imagine. On the flip side opening up an interface where Big brother can read peoples emotions or thoughts might not seem so much like science fiction after all.
