Another buddhist holiday gave me a long weekend and the chance to visit Ankor Wat in Siem Reap with Caroline (a new expat at ICC).

For my birthday I took the day off of language study. It was a much appreciated break. I ended the day by going out for a birthday dinner with new friends. I got so many pretty cards from pepole here and sent from home (shown in the last picture). It was a good relaxing but fun day. Thanks to all who sent birthday greeting! Enjoy the pics.

Last weekend I got to visit another province called Prey Vihear. It is the same province that you may hav heard of in the news as there is a temple that Thailand and Cambodia are both laying claim to at the moment. I was about 100km away so everything seemed pretty normal where I was. It was a grat trip. I traveled with Chrisitna, who was traveling back to her house from a trip to canada for her sister’s wedding, and einvited me to come along. So I did some tour around Phnom Penh as part of my orientation here. I got to visit the royal palace which has amazing looking buildings.






I also visited genocide monument which was amazing in a very different way.

I got to go on a long weekend trip to a provice called mondolkiri. I visited am ICC family doing agrigultural development and havea little fun. you can see the pictures below. I also got to climb a tree twice but I don’t have any pictures of that.

So below is a slide show of some of the flowers at the E2S training site. I had a good time there. I didn’t take any pictures of the sessions. It wouldn’t be very interesting anyway. We just sat in a room on plastic chairs (like you might have on your patio or deck) at tables and went over information. Now I have been all oriented and conference out. The last two weeks have been good but I am definitely ready for a relaxing weekend off before I jump into more orientation, more new people to connect with, and more changes to adjust to next week. I am glad to have this time to pause and really absorb all that has gone on and be ready to go ‘full on’ when I get to Cambodia. I have gotten good input on language schools, housing options, shopping, and even gyms available from people this past week. I h
