Happy Mother’s Day
She used to be my only enemy and never let me be free
Catching me in places that I knew I shouldn’t be
Every other day I crossed the line I didn’t mean to be so bad
I never thought you would become the friend I never had
Back then I didn’t know why
Why you were misunderstood
So now I see through your eyes
All that you did was love
Mama I love you, Mama I care
Mama I love you, Mama my friend
You’re my friend
I didn’t want to hear it then but I’m not ashamed to say it now
Every little thing you said and did was right for me
I had a lot of time to think about, about the way I used to be
Never had a sense of my responsibility
Back then I didn’t know why
Why you were misunderstood
So now I see through your eyes
All that you did was love
Mama I love you, Mama I care
Mama I love you, Mama my friend
You’re my friend
You’re my friend
But now I’m sure I know why (I know why)
Why you were misunderstood
So now I see through your eyes
All I can give you is love
(All I can give you is love)
Mama I love you, Mama I care
Mama I love you, Mama my friend
Mama I love you, Mama I care
Mama I love you, Mama my friend
Mama I love you, Mama I care
Mama I love you, Mama my friend
Mama I love you, Mama I care
Mama I love you, Mama my friend
You’re my friend
You’re my friend
Mama I love you, Mama I care
Mama I love you, Mama my friend
Mama I love you, Mama I care
Mama I love you, Mama my friend
Dove commercials
These commercials may have the most creative people behind it. As funny as it is, the message they are trying to convey is certainly nothing to laugh about.
What a day..
Last day of school.. animal physio practical.. a sense of achievement because I sort out the calculations myself..
Another 5 km run tonight.. a sense of achievement because I managed to shave a minute off my previous timing..
I then saw this video..

and my eyes welled up, not with sadness, but with joy, happiness and exuberance. Sometimes we humans have a lot to learn from each other.
I dreamed a dream
I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high,
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving.
Then I was young and unafraid
When dreams were made and used,
And wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung,
No wine untasted.
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hopes apart
As they turn your dreams to shame.
And still I dream he’ll come to me
And we will live our lives together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms
We cannot weather…
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I’m living
So different now from what it seems
Now life has killed
The dream I dreamed.
Lost Generation
Saw this on DanK’s blog and I thought to myself that I have to have it on mine. When you stripped ideas from the fancy designs, the message hits you hard. Hope is an operative word. No matter how the context of hope is used, it still has a positive ring to it. And I wonder why.. Maybe it’s because there is the possibility of it happening that keeps our spirit alive, waiting to see that moment that we had hoped for. When hope happens, all in the world is in tune.
I have come to learn over the years that my life is not just about me or the people around me. It’s much more than that; it involves the very air I breathe, the water I drink, the bed I sleep on, the clothes I wear, the ants that I happily kill. These things and me are part of a larger thing we call the world. Mind my indulgence in such topics since I’m doing my personal report for the module “Understanding the Universe”.
When you see in a different lens, you see different things. When you see the universe, you realise how small, minute and inconspicuous we are in the vast space of the universe. And it saddens me sometimes that I don’t see that.
We forget that we can see even further than where light has travelled. We forget that we can see the deepest oceans, the largest galaxies or the smallest particles known to Man. We see it in our heads. And then we realise that what we see in our head, the ‘vision’, as it is aptly named, allows us to manifest it in the physical world. We see the largest galaxies with telescope, we see the deepest oceans with unmanned submarines, we see the smallest particles with the help of microscopes.
So with hope comes vision of the positive things we imagine the world to be. And with such vision surely the realisation of it will sure to follow, given time.
