Video: Reform Madness - White Minority | The Daily Show
A great clip from the Daily Show with Larry Wilmore. He never fails to make me laugh while crafting an intelligent critique.

"She wants 'her' America back? Go tell that to the Indians."
Animal Cruelty
Friends,

I hope that you can be brave enough to watch a bit of this video. If you eat meat, I request that you watch the entire thing, and I hope you watch it on full screen and really let yourself see and hear it.

I'm not 100% against eating meat. If the animals are treated compassionately and if farms use methods that are environmentally sustainable, I object a little less. (However, ethically, I'd prefer that I eat no animals, including fish, at all.) What really moves me are the concentration camp co
See the film "THE COVE"
Friends, please at least watch this trailer. I took my youth group to see this film tonight, and it had a huge impact on them. This secretive slaughter of dolphins is abhorrent.
Erin McKean redefines the Dictionary - From TED.com
An excellent lecture on lexicography by Erin McKean, emailed to me by my friend Lauren, who is jealous of Ms McKean's occupation and fashion sense.

Story: This past Christmas, I asked my parents for something special: an electronic dictionary. For some reason or another, I've been loving looking up words I don't understand. As I read my texts last Fall, I began to go to my computer's dictionary often, out of curiosity. 'What EXACTLY does this word mean?' Or if I was writing, I'd often wonder the same ques
White in America - The Children | The Daily Show
The Daily Show once again does a ridiculous and funny piece on race in the USA.

The funniest moment was when Larry talks to Robin Thicke: "Remember that albino priest in the DaVinci Code? He's got nothing on how white your dad is."
Wanda Sykes' Jokes | The Daily Show
This is 'The Daily Show' at its best, comparing Wanda Sykes's jokes at the White House Correspondents Dinner to the executive approval of waterboarding.

By the way, could Wanda Sykes be the first out lesbian speaker at the event? For a while, I wondered if there had been any African-American speakers, but apparently Cedric the Entertainer was there in 2005 and Ray Charles was there in 2003. She may, however, be the first African-American woman to speak.

Note the "controversy" over Sykes's jokes. Her ins
A Gaythering Storm! - From Funny or Die
From the folks you brought you "Prop 8 - The Musical"

Brilliant.
Tea Party Tyranny | The Daily Show | Comedy Central
Jon Oliver delivers his great oddball British humor once again.
The Breakfast Song, by the Reverend Cleo in Tupelo, MS
In some odd way, this song captures a piece of my theology.

'Why did he write the song?,' I must ask, assuming he penned it. This is how I imagine it: the good Reverend Cleo was reading something that quoted nutritionists as saying breakfast was vitally important, but he was able to say, to himself and to us, that he knew about something more important than breakfast, and when we encounter this bigger reality (our Home, where God resides and to which God calls us), breakfast won't matter at all.

As much

"Why people believe Americans are Stupid"
No words can explain this..... (beats head against desk)
How To Tell People They Sound Racist
Brief, informative, and sometimes funny explanation on how to approach conversations about racism. I kinda' wish it was longer, actually. This guy is cool.

Props to Bruce for pointing this video out.
Cute Baby Tiger: 3 Weeks Old
This cute tiger baby..... it is gonna' grow up to kill some zebras.
The 13th Amendment
This woman is so cool.

I never see whites recognize the fact that there are people alive today that grew up with family members who were born into slavery. Let's say that again: There are black people alive today in our country, who knew and loved and were nurtured by family members and friends who had been enslaved, forced into a system that is one of the greatest sins ever committed by the human race. Our horrendous sin of slavery has not passed into history. It continually waits to be addressed, and no
Mr Bean goes to church
This is one of my favorite sketches of all time. Rowan Atkinson is a comic genius. I empathize with this bit, since church was an incredible bore during my high school years, and I got in trouble for falling asleep during the sermon.
Cute Baby Gorilla's first steps
This is jaw-droppingly, amazingly cute. Beware, for your heart will be strangely warmed.
