When my cable company finally got Nickelodeon in the 80's, one of the shows on it was a translated anime series with French credits. Still maintaining a fanbase to this day, Hulu is now carrying the show, so let's begin the search for El Durado with The Mysterious Cities of Gold, episode 1.

During the Saturday Supercast review of early episodes of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe over at Sugary Serials, the hosts mentioned that one of the favorite episodes of fans was the episode "The Problem With Power". Based on the Mattel toyline, the Filmation series as a whole is beloved, but if this episode was one of the big ones (The Supercast only focused on the earlier episodes), I figured it's worth checking out.

Saturday Night Showcase returns next wee

So the news about the "Land of the Lost" movie isn't good. They pretty much did what Battlestar Galactica did: slaps old names on new characters, only instead of a dark war story, they went with making a Will Ferrell movie. Not even one of his kid movies, which considering the movie is based on a Sid and Marty Krofft kids show is just terrible.

Back in the late 90's, the local networks still aired their own programming, rather than giving it to third parties. Tonight I choose a rather underrated series (as it only lasted one season) that pushed the "cyberpunk" style into kids TV, and rather well (considering cyberpunk is seldom my thing).
