Gore, Keep doing what u believe is best
One particular industry that I've started analyzing more over the past few months concerns renewable energy solutions.  I've learned about some cool techniques during past little bit....how energy can be recreated from waste, how energy from be produced in Africa and delivered to a customer in Sweden, .etc.  Some really cool stuff!  When it comes to green initiatives, probably Al Gore is the most well-known figure.  His movie on global warming definitely sparked some conversation within my group of friends.  As someone trying to push something at such a large scale, he's also receiving criticism.  People are accusing him of trying to profit from investment put into the Green Economy.  Some critics say that the idea of Global Warming is false and is just a political stunt to get people to pour money into an industry.  Check out the movie "The Global Warming Swindle" if you want to hear people who deny that global warming exists. I wanted to share this video about how Gore defends himself.  His satire use of rebuttals and direct answers are most admirable.  Never does he give the impression that he's in the Hot Seat, and that is impressive to me.  Nice job Al!
mom, people are calling me a baby chick
Obama's infamous words, "time to change", have echoed through the minds of many Americans. Hopefully some people will make changes in a positive direction. Well, though this particular change might not be a noble type and may not be for the best, I have decided that I will change the hair dew and let it grow!! That's right...I'm going to grow my hair up until it hits the ceiling baby!! Actually that's a bit exaggerated, but I am letting the hair grow some. After letting it grow for a couple weeks, my friends are already teasing me....great friends huh!! They look forward to seeing what happens, but at the same time, they pet my head and call me a baby chick! I don't know whether to chirp like a little chicken or bark like a dog and bit their hands. I guess that will depend on who's petting. My hair is at the stage where it's long and sticking straight up....haha it's kinda funny looking. I think I still need a couple weeks before it gets long enough where it will start to naturally fall down, and so until them, I'm in what my home-slice Zeki calls "in the critical stage". Haha....he went from a crew cut to the gel look and so he has experience. All this attention on growing reminded me of the Chia Pet commercials. And so I had to find some to give some giggles. If I'm going to be called a chick, I better find stuff to make me laugh :-)
Rock on celebrity Trish
Every so often I receive news about something that not only tickles my stomach, but makes me smile real big. Well here is one of those kinds of stories. I used to date a beautiful girl named Trish back in Atlanta. Things didn't work out between us, but we managed to keep in touch. I think we kept in touch because we shared something in common: 2 people trying to understand what lies beyond our backyard of the USA in hope to one day make a global impact. Yea yea, it might sound cliché or even lame, but college if properly used teaches you to dream big and reach for the stars. Well, Trish ended up going to Taiwan after her studies and currently resides there....with a stable job!! But on top of that, she's even achieved celebrity status. She's kicking it with actors and actresses at bars, both from Taiwan and around the world. Pretty impressive, and I really get a kick out of hearing some of the stories. Apparently she is modeling, writing music with a well-known music producer and she's even singing on national television. Umm....wow! So of course after hearing about her celebrity-ness, I wanted to check it out. After forever harrassing, I was finally given a youtube link to an episode where she was singing on TV. Video timeline 4:04 - Trish interview 5:26 - Trish singing I didn't quite understand the premises of the show, but I've been told that it's a competition sort of like American Idol or La Nouvelle Star. This wasn't the final show, but she ended up winning this one. Pretty cool as she never had singing lessons. Trish, if you read this, I want to say that I'm very impressed and very proud. You are getting closer and closer to making your dreams come true! Keep on rocking, and stop hitting (literally) on the TV hosts. And as for me pals, I'm brushing my shoulders saying, "yep, I know a celebrity :-)"
Fun with garageband
I like messing around with creative software because it tickles the brain. *nerd Anyway I ended up playing with garageband '09 last night just to check out. It's pretty fun, and I think I was able to create something somewhat decent. So have a look and let me know what u think :-) I'm no professional, so cut me some slack
Poetry inspiration needed
The past couple of weeks have been crazy with so much work to do. It's been getting to my colleagues a bit, and so we are definitely looking for ways to escape. Well my escape is writing a bit. I'm working on a little poem that I hope to put together by the end of the week. We'll see what turns of it, but doing such things also gives me a chance to look for some inspiration. And of course, I gotta head back to fav Mr. Talib. For those of you that don't know, I wrote my finally thesis at Duke relating to moving the social masses, but incorporated ideas from one of Talib's videos. In case you're curious which one, it was "I try" feating Mary J. Blige. But I just discovered a video that I new saw before....not too shabby, but it helps get the blood pumping through the brain cells. Rock on creativity!
Showing off Atlanta, my home
Having made the panorama photo, it had thinking of creating things a little more complicated, yet cooler. Currently I'm looking for ways to create photos where you can rotate images in a 360degree fashion. Well I haven't found a way quite yet, if only I had photoshop cs4, but I did find a cool service that I wanted to show. Fox Theatre - Atlanta in Atlanta Have fun with this program. Hopefully I'll figure out how to do the same type photos real soon
My neighbor Karim
Hi everyone, I put together a quick video of my roomie, Karim.  This is one bad motha-egg-cooking man who, besides being one of the most advanced in Excel that I know, can play some mad beats on the guitar.  Here's some of his goodies. Stayed tuned for more videos of my ballin friends.  I got a special one of star coming from Taiwan.  Off to the mountains to get my tan on!!!!!! Blogged with the Flock Browser

WTO presentation with an apple
A couple weeks ago I put up a video of one of my WTO presentations.  I thought I would share the powerpoint in hope of some feedback.  Tata....maybe u can give me some feedback and tell me how it compares to the older one.  :-)  Maybe the apple works better than the orange?   WTO SPS Measures View more presentations from catchmikey. Uploading it to the internet, I saw my older presentatio.  It turns out that it has almost been downloaded 100 times from the internet.  Maybe some used it for their own theatre performance :-)  That would be cool! Ok, back to messing with SQL and the vids :-) ohhhhh dear!

A stupid Hot-Atlanta guy in the snow!
Hi everyone! Hopefully everyone was able to enjoy Vday whether it be with a special loved one or not. I was fortunate enough to get a drunkin-insomniac skype call from one of my friends back in the states. You gotta love that and how it puts a smile on the face. Not my idea of a typical Vday, I ended up spending the day in the mountains with one of my Canadian friends named David.....yes a dude! Crap!....but it's better than staying at home I suppose. Climbing was great. The snow came up to the booty and the weather wasn't too bad except for being freakin cold! It's strange how you can take a train 15 mins outside the city and poof.....ur in winter wonderland. Apparently David is a pro mountain climber. His pace had me huffing and puffing and had me thinking that I better hit the gym pronto. I was also telling myself that he's from the mountains and I'm from Hot-lanta where we don't deal with this kind of white stuff! Everything was good except for when I was climbing to the top, my toes on my right foot started getting numb. At first I was cool, thinking that it's natural. But as we kept going, my toes got worse and then I started to freak out. Once we reached the top of the mountain, I immediately took my socks off that turned out to be soaking wet and started rubbing the toes. But this was doing much, and about half my foot was feeling like a block of ice. I got scared and told David that we need to rush down the mountain and that's what we did. What took us about 4 hrs to climb, we probably got to the bottom in 30 mins. With all the snow we were able to jump and slide down the mountain for the most part....very cool, but I kept thinking about the toes. The frantic pace luckily heated up my toes by the time I got to the bottom! I gave each toe a kiss and had some hot chocolate to conclude the escapade. haha :-) Thanks David for the adventure and for helping me get down the mountain fast!
Turn that music down!
Gotta love living with people that come from all over the world! I get to try food that I've never had before, have conversations about countries and of course shake my booty to different types of music. Ok....so the music on this video isn't really to shake, but it's pretty cool to hear some music that I typically don't. Coming from my Iranian neighbor, I present the soothing sounds of ________. He told me the name, but I have no idea how to spell it :-) Video will be up in a minute if u don't see it
What 1 vote could mean!!!!
Oh dear.....what would happen if I didn't vote for the election? Can 1 vote really make a change? I thought this was funny with the election countdown underway. Good luck to both candidates for completing the most grueling job interview that I know.
hahahah
