  • Honor for CCM E-Media Professor Kevin Burke
    Congratulations to Associate Professor Kevin Burke who is the winner of a Best of Competition Award at the Broadcast Education Association convention this week in Las Vegas. Professor Burke’s award is for a promotional video he produced about UC’s Graduate School. His recognition was in the faculty video competition in the public service announcement category. Professor Burke talked with Dan Merhar about the honor.

  • Sangbong Nam's "Awaken" (images by Heesuk Che)
    CCM DMA Composition student Sangbong Nam's 2011 ASCAP/SEAMUS Student Competition second prize winning composition. In Buddhism, people use sound to awaken the world every morning. It was an interesting challenge for the composer to use "sound" to awaken the world. The original source of this piece is a singing bowl, one of the instruments that Buddhists use in temple.
