Fusion of the Arts - My Poetry, Their Music
While writing the poem “Eternity”, I accidentally stumbled upon this Original Filipino Music- sung by a filipino artist, Gary Valenciano. I was immediately smitten by the song’s enchanting, bittersweet melody- matched into perfection by its lyrics. From then on, overpowering emotion would immedately grip my soul each time I listen into it- I would be lost and immediately transported to the realm of the unknown…
Who am I-
to deserve to be
born and to be loved-
to be showered with
a touch of divine
graces?
I am-
but a speck-
lost in the vastness
of the universe, and
yet I feel
loved-and
I love.

Feeling insignificant and humbled- by incorporating such masterful fusion of lyrics and music with my amateurish verses- like trying to patch up old wineskins with a new material- i see and feel the overwhelming distance, the unmeasurable space- that divides and at the same time unites, my simple self to the greatness of the one who makes all things possible… like forgiveness and acceptance…
Such awesome irony of life, love, and living would always serve to me as a reminder- of life’s reality, although some would think of such as “too good to be true”… it will remain to be something wonderful, something uncomparable- something marvelous and something real… A sign, a reality hidden from blind perceptions and limited views of human. such irony of life that reflects from the inside out.
