My mind is blown by this: Locked In Syndrome
This morning, I listened to a story on the news about a man in Belgium, who had been in a motor vehicle accident 23 years ago.
He was diagnosed as being in a coma, and was thought to have been in a vegetative state, with no awareness of his surroundings.
A recent scan of his brain showed [...]

I luf this! It was twittered by my pal Buddapalian. Money quote for me..."We say God Bless you on that journey" is Anglican for "Go Fuck Yourself!" BWAHAHAHA!
Lord Knows I'm Easily Amused
I went to leadership training for a week...here's what I bring back....

Will this make me a better boss? Prolly not...but it does make me a more AMUSED one!

Overcome by your moving temple
Overcome by this holiest of altars

So pure, so rare
To witness such an earthly goddess
That I've lost my self control
Beyond compelled to throw this dollar
Down before your holiest of altars

I'd sell my soul,
My self-esteem a dollar at a time

For one chance, one kiss,
One taste of you my Magdalena

I bear witness to this place,
This prayer, so long forgotten
So pure, so rare
To witness such an earthly goddess

That I'd sell my soul,
My self-esteem a dollar at a time
For one chance, one kiss,
One taste of you my black Madonna

I'd sell my soul,
My self-esteem a dollar at a time

One taste, one taste,
one taste of you my Magdalena

Super Comediennes bitch about being "old" at 35...
The world is a surreal place.  Listen to these bright, funny, ATTRACTIVE women (Christina Applegate, Julia Louis Dryfus, Sarah Silverman, etc.) talk about getting offerred to play the hag or the "mom" of a person 8 years younger than them.

UGH. Crazy world.

Also, I supremely love that this is NOT a catfight. I love funny women who are comfortable in their own skin.
My friends are VERY Naughty...
And it cracks me up! This is prolly not safe for work, but it IS funnay! Thanks Pisco-Wisco Dave T!
Salve Regina

O clemens, O pia, O dulcis Virgo Maria. Amen.

The Who - Love Reign O'er Me
This is the one you're thinking of, right? Smiles.
Hallelujah performed by Rufus Wainwright
Maybe there's a God above, and all I ever learned from love was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you
And its not a cry you can hear at night, its not somebody who's seen the light, its a cold and its a broken Hallelujah

Me and J2 dig this song
Radiohead - 15 Step

Course, we like to meditate upon this while we listen....
Lyrics on my mind today
Back in the day, I loooooooooooved this song.

Fortress Around Your Heart

Under the ruins of a walled city
Crumbling towers in beams of yellow light
No flags of truce, no cries of pity
The siege guns had been pounding through the night
It took a day to build the city
We walked through its streets in the afternoon
As I returned across the fields I'd known
I recognised the walls that I once made
I had to stop in my tracks for fear
Of walking on the mines I'd laid
And if I've built this fortress around your heart
Encircled you in trenches and barbed wire
Then let me build a bridge
For I cannot fill the chasm
And let me set the battlements on fire

Then I went off to fight some battle
That I'd invented inside my head
Away so long for years and years
You probably thought, or even wished that I was dead
While the armies all are sleeping
Beneath the tattered flag we'd made
I had to stop in my tracks for fear
Of walking on the mines I'd laid

And if I've built this fortress around your heart
Encircled you in trenches and barbed wire
Then let me build a bridge
For I cannot fill the chasm
And let me set the battlements on fire

This prison has now become your home
A sentence you seem prepared to pay
It took a day to build the city
We walked through its streets in the afternoon
As I returned across the lands I'd known
I recognised the fields where I'd once played
I had to stop in my tracks for fear
Of walking on the mines I'd laid

And if I've built this fortress around your heart
Encircled you in trenches and barbed wire
Then let me build a bridge
For I cannot fill the chasm
And let me set the battlements on fire
Hahahahaha! Funny monkery...
My friend Nancy from church sent me this today. I've seen it before, but it amuses me, and so I'm sharing. ENJOY!!
I liked this
One of my fellow book club members sent this to me - she got it from her daughter. It's Liz Gilbert, talking about following up on the success of Eat, Pray, Love - in the face of the knowledge that her biggest success might be behind her...I enjoyed hearing her talk about ways to live around the fear that all creative people face...it was a good talk.  Take a listen!
