In 1999, while attempting to reopen the famous Troop-D Stables at New York Military Academy, this video was produced by me as part of our fund raising activities to be used by the Troop D Alumni Advisory Committee (established by the Board of Trustees). It includes many photos and videos from Alumni and parents throughout the years of the Troop dating back to 1911, including a few general video clips from NYMA produced Alumni videos. Although the Committee did not raise the estimated $2 million (raised $70,000) to reopen the stable program, along with the summer Cavalry Camp, it was a valiant effort. Many thanks to Col. Calvin Fenton (NYMA Librarian) for his help in suppling material, and to Alan Isserlis and the 10 members of the Committee who first met at NYMA on January 4, 1999, from all corners of the U.S., in this noble attempt. This video is dedicated to the memory of Col. M. Russell Blair, Col. Mitchel, Col. Soto, Col. Poplin, A.C.deRubio, as well as, many others who loved Troop D throughout the decades. As of 2009, the 50-stall stables remains mostly closed, as the Troopers ride outside the campus.
