I was watching MTV Jams the other night when this video came on.  I’m somewhat familiar with Ryan Leslie’s work, albeit only vaguely.  My wife took one look and said “He’s to goofy looking to be an R&B singer”.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.  Is Asher racist?  No.  Stupid? Maybe.  Naive? Definitely.

I didn’t hate Youth Without Youth as much as a lot of people did.  It was quirky, and definitely not something I expected from Coppola, but Tetro looks a lot better.   It has a Michael Curtiz feel to it…1940’s or 50’s Hollywood.   Also, it’s interesting to see Vincent Gallo cast in this…

Pretty much brillaint.

With all the high profile movies coming out this summer and I’ve pretty much ignored this one and the only real reason is because I loath the films director.   But after seeing this trailer I’m slightly intrigued.  Could Sommers finally have pulled it off?  He’s definitely capable of dumb fun, but I’ve always felt the special effects in his movies bordered on hokey…like they were almost good enough and he was willing to accept less than awesome.
