Nar and Sabita invited me to their house last Sunday to participate in their annual puja. A puja is a worship service, a feast, and opportunity to see friends and family, a gathering of the community and a very colorful photo opportunity. My Nepalese friends have always welcomed my taking photographs and videos of their services. The priest, or pandit, is a refugee from Bhutan. He spent 17 years in a refugee camp in Nepal before coming to the states about a year ago.

Our Movie-Making Class for Immigrants and Refugees will use small camcorders called FlipVideos to film our movies. We ordered ten of them from the company's special offer to 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations where we buy one and get one free. We've got ten students and that means one camera each!

This week, the movie cameras arrived. The staff of FaithAction International House got a big kick out of unpacking and playing with them.
