A number of sites with sharable video that we support at Vodpod.com do not work at Wordpress.com. Usually the videos don’t work because of one of these technical reasons:

- Site uses Iframes or Script tags for sharable video - The site’s embed tag relies on the Flash “base” parameter

Videos from these sites cannot be posted to your Wordpress blog in a post, but some of them will work in the Vodpod sidebar widget.

1. CNN.com
2. NHL.com
3. MSNBC

Newsmax.com uses Voxant and I can’t get their embed code to work on Vodpod’s “Share Video – Mozilla Firefox” Pop-up. I have an account with Newsmax and am signed in.
I tried all 3 Voxant embed codes: Standard, Javascript and Object Embed. Nothing works.
Any help is appreciated.

Hello, I’m brand new to Vodpod, and I can’t get an MSNBC video to post on my Wordpress blog. The embed works, I can see the image, there are even scrolling messages along the bottom of the video — but the video does not play. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the reminder – I need to add MSNBC to this list! Yeah, their videos will not work in Wordpress.com posts, because of a Flash security restriction.

Video from WAND-TV in Springfield doesn’t embed either in Wordpress. That is pretty lame.

I posted a CMT video (awsome John Rich) on my Wordpress blog. It worked initially the way it should and then all in a sudden it stoped working. I did not do anything different. Any help?

blogger represents no problem with any video I’ve posted so far, including MSNBC’s videos. I think that wordpress should do something about this problems with the videos if they don’t want to loose members.

I’m having a similar problem with videos on the Real News Network except it sometimes works but when it doesn’t, it does, that is, it posts the same video! The problem is, you don’t spot it until you view or preview it.

Why am I unable to post the link http://www.truvie.com/watch?v=4m8kvz0CMUI to my vodpod. It is embedded from the share tab. Any suggestions?

It doesn’t look like Truvie supports video embeds. When I try to embed the video, it prompts me for a username/password, saying the site is open by invitation only. The best thing to do is contact Truvie and ask them to enable embeds so you can post on Vodpod.

I’m using Animoto and Sliderocket on Wordpress.com. No one can use fullscreen… Fullscreen used to work with Animoto some time ago. :-|

Sky News videos don’t seem to be working either.

I used http://www.trilulilu.ro to post my own recordings on wordpress, via vodpod. Now it is impossible to add to vodpod any new video from trilulilu, and the old ones, although they still work on vodpod, are invisible in wordpress. What happened?

MySpace seems not to work since yesterday at least in Wordpress.com. Any help?

Any news about Newsmax videos? I just uploaded one that played fine in the Vodpod preview. But it wont play here on Vodpod after finishing upload and therefore – of cause – also not on WP.com.
