The classic 1939 short that was nominated for an Academy Award. The story takes place in the future, when all humans have died. A family of squirrels are gathered together on Christmas Eve, and the grandfather squirrel is asked who the "men" are in the line "Peace on Earth, goodwill to men" (from the carol I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day). This cartoon, from 1941, is almost too cute to bear. When it was released, Tom and Jerry were still in their infancy (having been created only a year earlier). Here, the duo engage in their usual hijinks, only to be overwhelmed by the Christmas spirit at the end. A little sappy, but hey, it's the holidays... :)

This 1951 cartoon contains the usual pratfalls of the hapless Sylvester the Cat, with Tweety Bird displaying his usual smugness. (Does anyone else wish that, just once, Sylvester would win? Or is it just me? :))

Very cute: MGM's 'A Pup's Christmas'. It looks to be from the early 40s - I'm not sure of the date. If anyone can clarify, it would be appreciated. :)
