Jillian Michaels Conquered
Every week people see Jillian Michaels on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser”. I have a love hate relationship with this show. It’s great because it shows everyone that YOU CAN make a change. You can lose weight, you can become healthy. I love when they show the change in the biological age of the people, the medications they have dropped, the life threatening illnesses that they are no longer susceptible to, and so on. The thing I don’t love is that every day Janes and Joes (like you) expect to lose 34 pounds the first week they work out.
Let’s clarify something on the show that even Bob and Jillian admit. These people are working out 6-9 hours a day, working with a trainer, a Registered Dietitian, a personal chef, a doctor, and a psychiatrist all at their disposal 24 hours a day. YOU DON’T HAVE THAT IN REALITY! So don’t expect the same results you have LIFE to deal with. It’s great, amazing, and inspiring changes, but it’s not realistic in real life. When these contestants step on the scale and lose 4 pounds in a week are disappointed, I want to cry! That’s amazing!!! Keep that in mind.
The attached video is Jillian’s story about he weight loss challenges (yes we have challenges as trainers too!) as well as some tips to improve your health and fitness level. Check it out!
Great Moments Are Born From Great Opportunity
]Great movements are everywhere, if we just have the courage to seize them and take advantage. Every day you have literally millions of opportunities, how do you capitalize on these great opportunities? Do you give it all you’ve got, to you take advantage of the position you are in? Do you make excuses and blame your circumstances, blame others, blame time, blame money, blame anything and anyone except yourself?
When you are willing to take the fall for your the things that happen in your life, good or bad, you are saying that I am in control of my life. When you blame thing on others and on things, you are saying I have not control over my life, and that you don’t want to.
You have a great opportunity right now, to take a step towards a great moment if you will define it for yourself. What do you want to achieve? How are you going to achieve it? The choice is yours, you have the power to create in your life anything you want, as long as you are willing to take the hits and keep moving forward. And when that happens you need to look in the mirror and not out the window, and say I have control over my next step and the steps I have taken, I am going to make this work for me because it’s MY LIFE.
Happy Monday!
Happy monday everybody! I hope you are all having a great day and a great start to the week.
Above is a video that I feel speaks to everyone. We all have a tendancy to get down, to waller is self loathing, to throw ourselves a pitty party. When that happens we need a little perspective, a little dose or reality. When it comes right down to it, there is always some worse off than we are. It might be hard to believe, and I’m not trying to make light of any situation that anyone has been through. But the fact remains, that the things we deal with can be handled one of two ways. We can embrace them, lift ourheads and plow ahead with faith in our selves and whatever it might be that you believe in, with determination and a positive attitude (and I don’t care what anyone says, being positive is a choice we all have). Or we can complain, we can feel sorry for ourselves, and we can not take action to make the best of the situation. I believe that there is a period of time that we are allowed to ask “what the heck is going on?!” and reflect on the situation. However, we then need to take a step in the right direction and MOVE forward. You have it inside you to make the best out of life, out of tough times, act on it and allow the success in those down times to empower you to your best!
Become the Best
The following is a very powerful, and I feel moving movie on what it means to “Go for Greatness”. To want and strive for greatness in every aspect of life.
Why is this important?
Why would you not want to be the BEST at whatever you do?
That comes back to PRIDE: Personal Responsibility In Daily  Efforts. If we don’t have PRIDE, then I can see how you wouldn’t care if you were the best at everything you did. Ok, maybe you don’t have to be the best, just the best you can be. I know I will never be
