George Miller Slams The Republican Plan
By far one of the best speeches during yesterday’s healthcare debate came from Rep. George Miller (D-CA):
Childish GOP
The lack of maturity by the House GOP is on full exhibit today as they debate healthcare reform. Here’s a compilation put together by Think Progress of the GOP trying to silence women lawmakers today:

Here’s something that isn’t childish – people will die while they Republicans pull these games because they don’t have healthcare. These sick fucks think this is all a game? Explain that to the families of the tens of thousands who perish every year because of a broken system. It’s to the point that we can’t even classify them as human, let alone American.
Go Markos
On the Ed Show a bit ago, Markos went after chickenhawk Tom Tancredo. When Markos informed Tancredo that he was an actual Veteran and not some chickenhawk who went off and got a deferment during Vietnam, well Tancredo decided to take his ball and go home.
I just love it when the wingnuts get so flabbergasted that they have to leave.
Teabagger Fail
Here is Rep. Todd Akin reciting the pledge today to the teabaggers in hopes of “driving liberals crazy”:
Notice something missing? Akin forgot the word “indivisible”. I don’t know about you, but when I see a member of our Congress not knowing the Pledge of Allegiance, well it drives this liberal crazy. Great job Tea Bagger!
Old Glory Hates Teabaggers
Oh this is such sweet irony. As wingnut talker Mark Levin took to the stage today at the tea party protest on Capital Hill the U.S. flag takes a dive to the ground.
A New Battle In The GOP Civil War Emerges
Now we have Michael Steele taking on Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh – the true GOP leadership:
RNC Chairman Michael Steele endorsed moderate Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava (R-NY) in the NY-23 special election before national conservative leaders — like Dick Armey, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Sarah Palin — forced Scozzafava out in favor of right-wing candidate Doug Hoffman. Following Hoffman’s defeat, Steele struck back at firebrands within his party, telling reporters earlier today that the opinion of conservative outsiders “really doesn’t matter much”:
STEELE: If you don’t live in the district, don’t vote there, your opinion really doesn’t matter much.

Blitzer later asked about Limbaugh and Palin directly and Steele didn’t really back down much:
So should we start the countdown until Steele goes on Limbaugh’s show to apologize?
Don’t Trust Those Credit Reporting Companies
The FTC is now going after credit reporting companies like freecreditreport.com and starting a campaign to inform people that the only authorized source under federal law to get a free credit report is annualcreditreport.com. Also they are wanting to gather any spam you may receive offering free credit reports:
The FTC also wants you to forward us any unsolicited emails you've received offering you a free credit report. Send them to spam@uce.gov.

This is an interesting new twist by the Obama administration to protect consumers, something we didn’t see under Bush. The FTC is also releasing a couple of promos that are very similar to those of freecreditreport.com.
I wonder how long before the wingnuts start screaming that the FTC is interfering with private business. What the FTC is doing now is exactly what a federal government should do, protect its people, and its a welcome change to what we have experienced the previous eight years.
OMG Boobies!
The lack of maturity on the right never ceases to amazes me. The latest elementary school rant comes from Townhall:
This reminds me when Fox News plays a constant b-roll of girls in bikinis during, say, Spring Break while proclaiming, "Ohhhh, isn't that terrible! That's so inappropriate!"
MSNBC's Dr. Nancy -- who's show gets terrible ratings -- plays the clip of a 28-year-old woman giving herself a breast exam at the beginning of the segment and asks: Was the decision to air this clip a "ploy" for ratings during sweeps week? Ha! Talk about transparent in her own ploy to get ratings. The two guest doctors agree that the video was more of a ploy than an educational tool. They also mention that it would have been more appropriate to show a 50-plus-year-old woman giving herself the exam than a 28-year-old because breast cancer generally hits the over 50s.

Absolutely amazing. Here’s the video posted by Townhall, which to any normal person is nothing sexual at all:

It amazes me that the right still gets in an uproar over boobs. They will never grow up and it doesn’t matter if its Janet Jackson or someone demonstrating a life saving self examination. They remind me of the kids in school who go all excited over the naked natives in issues of National Geographic. The sad part is that those kids were generally under 10.
Will They Even Have A Party Left?
The teabaggers are starting to take on Republicans and their first target is Lindsey Graham.
Now, after voting to confirm Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court and expressing a willingness to build a compromise approach to clean energy legislation, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) appears to be the new target of tea party activists. At a Graham town hall in Greenville yesterday, activist Harry Kimball of “RINO HUNT” protested by constructing a display that depicted Graham, as well as moderates like Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-ME) and Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), being flushed down a toilet:
KIMBALL: This is for every RINO who has failed to represent us. [...] [the toilet represents] flushing them, flushing them.

One attendee of the event asked the senator, “when are you going to announce that you are switching parties?” The question drew loud applause from the crowd. Graham defended himself, and denounced the influence of Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) on the Republican party:

They pushed Specter out and now are targeting Graham. Add to that Collins and Snowe and you can see the Republican numbers in Senate drop down to less than 30%. Here’s a video of this exchange, with more thoughts after that:

Shooting At ‘DWS’
This is utterly sick:
A bunch of Broward County, Fla. Republicans convened at a local rifle range to talk politics and squeeze off a few rounds at bullseyes.
One of them was a poster of a scary dude in a traditional Middle Eastern headdress -- another was human likeness with the initials of local Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
Among the members of the Southeast Broward Republican Club shooting their handguns and AK's Robert Lowry, who is waging an uphill campaign to unseat the popular Democratic incumbent in a district where D's outnumber R's two-to-one.
Lowry's target -- a paper silhouette -- had "DWS" written on it, a stunt Lowry first called a "joke" and later a "mistake."

So he is trying to cover-up these very poor actions by calling it a “mistake”. No sir – a “mistake” would be anyone voting for you to become part of our government.
Here is the video report from the Sun-Sentinel on this disgusting incident.
Pelosi Fires Back
Pelosi isn’t holding back in telling the Republicans that she is in her place. Check it out:

Why Does YouTube Allow Videos Threatening Our President To Remain Online?
The Southern Poverty Law Center has posted about  video on YouTube right now:
Here’s an ominous posting on YouTube from the “Patriot” crowd. It advises President Obama and other prominent people (“Our Dear Leader and co.”) to “leave now and give us our country back” and to do so by next week.
“If you stay,” the silent video message continues, “ ‘We, The People’ will systematically dismantle you, destroy you and reclaim what is rightfully ours. …
“We are angry and we are ready to take back the rights of the people. We will fight and We will win.

Here is the YouTube video:
This video has been on YouTube for 3 days now. Why hasn’t it been pulled? To me it goes far beyond the Facebook poll last week which asked if the President should be killed. Google should hold up to their civic duty and yank the video and forward all information of the uploader to the Secret Service.
Go Shep Smith!
I got a feeling that Shep will be pulled out to the wood shed and given a good disciplining by Roger Ailes later today. He totally goes off the FOX talking points and declares that the public option is not a government takeover.
Speaking Of Republicans Cheering Against America
Today Joe Scarborough blasted the GOP for their rooting against America in the 2016 bid, saying that they have “gone off the deep end”. I'm sure the GOP will be firing back at Scarborough any minute now.
Bernie Goldberg Slams Fox’s “Cheerleading” Of The Tea Parties
And he did it on FOX no less:
Did Glenn Beck Kill A Live Frog On Television?
This is the “talent” that FOX strives for. It is a sickness, and I propose that we throw Beck, Ailes and Murdoch in a pot of boiling water next.
And I can already hear PETA on this. I suspect we will be getting some press releases very soon.
Backtracking Bill O.
Last week Bill O’Reilly made news by an apparent support of the public option. Well it didn’t take long for him to try and paint that support as some big conspiracy theory:
Via Think Progress:
GOLDBERG: Bill, Bill, don’t shoot the messenger. Right? I’m your friend. I’m telling you this as a friend. You also said, “If the government can cobble together a cheaper insurance policy that gives the same benefits, I see that as a plus for the folks.” Now, I know what you meant by that.
O’REILLY: But I clarified it: private hands.
GOLDBERG: You did. You absolute — you absolutely did. But you’re a big prize for the left. But they can get… What I’m saying is when — when you say — when you say if the government can cobble…
O’REILLY: I clarified. I know what you’re saying, but it’s just drives me crazy that you can’t have be an honest dialogue in this country anymore.

So we all got it wrong on what O’Reilly said? Let’s review:
’REILLY: The public option now is done. We discussed this, it’s not going to happen. But you say that this little marketplace that they’re going to set up, whereby the federal government would subsidize insurance for some Americans, that is, in your opinion, a public option?
OWCHARENKO: Well, it has massive new federal regulation. So you don’t necessarily need a public option if the federal government is going to control and regulate the type of health insurance that Americans can buy.
O’REILLY: But you know, I want that, Ms. Owcharenko. I want that. I want, not for personally for me, but for working Americans, to have a option, that if they don’t like their health insurance, if it’s too expensive, they can’t afford it, if the government can cobble together a cheaper insurance policy that gives the same benefits, I see that as a plus for the folks.

O’Reilly specifically said that “if the government”, which is a far cry from “private hands”. It looks like the only not being hon
Wingnut Wants Public Abortions
From HuffPo:
Anti-abortion activist Lila Rose said at last weekend's Value Voters Summit that as long as abortions are legal, they should be "done in the public square," thus disgusting people into action. And then "we might hear angels singing as we ponder the glory of conception."

Sure I’ll get behind this idea, but only if it is coupled with this one. These wingers that are such war hawks get to go into theater and recover the remains of our soldiers killed in duty. Also they get to be present when the family is informed of their loss. Let them see the gruesome results of their love for war.
FOX Wants A Pity Party
As Obama makes his rounds on the Sunday shows this morning, one network didn’t get any face time with the President – FOX News. Chris Wallace seems to be really hurt over this and went as far as to call the President a “crybaby”:
Of course reality seems to leave FOX once again. The President has limited time, and why should he spend it on a network that will just edit and twist everything he says into a lie? Perhaps if FOX would become say “fair and balanced” then they might get some face time with POTUS.
“Value Voters” – Please
This video exemplifies everything that is wrong with the right today. At the “value voters summit” attendees decide to be rude and disruptive to reporters from MSNBC and even FOX:

And this is an event that the presidential hopefuls and leading Republicans attend. Putting myself in their shoes (and wow is it scary there), I can see the thrill of going after MSNBC, but FOX? They must be out for blood and it doesn’t matter where it comes from.
But the whole thing gets even better from there. Yesterday’s headliner was none other than Carrie Prejean, the former Miss California who made her fame by blasting gay marriage. Watch as Rachael Maddow tears into her speech going on about the lack of tolerance today.

Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy

Talk about not having a clue! Prejean is the epitome of every dumb blonde joke out there, and she stood up to that description yesterday. How can someone who made their fame being intolerant preach about the lack of tolerance? Either she is a 100% hypocrite or she has no idea what the hell she is doing. Honestly I say both are the reason.
