ITB Chamber Choir sings Luk Luk Lumbu on Vimeo
ITB Chamber Choir sang Luk Luk Lumbu, an East Java’s traditional song, arranged by Budi Susanto Yohanes. We did not plan to sing this song in the recorded style. The “classical style” was used mainly due to the low scores we received in the final round of Folklore Acapella Category. Our “traditional style” of singing impaired our intonations (or so we told).

This was the fourth and last song performed in the final round of Mixed Chamber Choir Category – World Choir Games 2006 in Xiamen, China. ITB Chamber Choir won a silver medal in this category and was ranked in the fourth place.
ITB Choir sings Janger on Vimeo
ITB Choir sang Janger, a Balinese traditional song arranged by Budi Susanto Yohanes, at the World Choir Games Friendship Concert, Haicang Riyuegu Hot Springs Resort, Xiamen, China. This was the second frienship concert performed by ITB Choir, the first was in Jingshang Community Square.

After the Haicang concert, on popular demand ;-), we were offered to perform in two more friendship concerts. However, due to the storm that hit Xiamen during the second week of WCG, the concerts were cancelled.

After winning the qualification round with a convincing score (90.4%), we received quite a disappointing score in the final round (70.75%, almost 20% abatement!). ITB Choir won a silver medal in this category and was ranked in the tenth place.

ITB Choir sings Luk Luk Lumbu on Vimeo
ITB Choir sang Luk Luk Lumbu, an East Java’s traditional song, arranged by Budi Susanto Yohanes. We sang this song in a style that dearer to our hearts (and to most Indonesians) than the one used in vimeo.com/clip:147599. However, the juries seemed to have other opinions, the score difference in the two categories was significant: 69 in “this traditional style” and 77 in “the more classical” style.

Luk Luk Lumbu was the opening song performed in the final round of Folklore Acappela Category – World Choir Games 2006 in Xiamen, China. After winning the qualification round, ITB Choir won a silver medal in the final round and was ranked in the tenth place.
