For the second song, this have been out for several weeks now, but I learned to loved this just recently. Gavin DeGraw has a very beautiful voice. “Stay” is an equally beautiful song.

Gavin Shane DeGraw (born February 4, 1977) is an American singer-songwriter and musician. He is probably most well-known for his songs “Chariot”, “I [...]

hot song of the week 7
This song has the, probably, the most catchy beat and lyrics in the 3 songs I heard on [V] tunes. This song is not that new, but I haven’t heard it aside from Channel [V], so I think, that makes it a HSotW material. Here’s Lady Sovereign, I Got You Dancing.

Louise Amanda Harman (born 19 December 1985), known as Lady Sovereign, is an English rapper. She has been compared to both Melanie Chisholm (namely her Sporty Spice persona), as “another lily-white rap sensation.” Lady Sovereign is notable for her adoption of a relatively masculine appearance and aggressive delivery, donning athletic gear and mocking the characteristics traditionally associated with her gender. This stands in sharp contrast to female artists in similar genres, such as bassline house’s more traditionally feminine Zoe.
“I Got You Dancing” (produced by Dr. Luke) is the first single from UK hip hop artist Lady Sovereign’s forthcoming album, Jigsaw. The single was confirmed on her official website as the first single from Jigsaw. Following the trends of other musicians, Lady Sovereign announced that “I Got You Dancing” would be a free track. It has since been made available to download from her official MySpace page. The song itself features heavy usage of the Auto-Tune effect made popular by artist’s such as T-Pain.

Like On My Way, I also came across this great song of this Aussie singer-actress, Lenka, at [V] Tunes. This song remind me of Sara Bareilles or Feist kind of songs. Just recently, I heard this on local radio stations and on MTV Philippines. This is really a hot new song. The Show.

Lenka (born Lenka Kripac in 1978) is an Australian television actress turned ensemble musician with Decoder Ring, turned solo singer-songwriter, most famous worldwide for her song “The Show“, which has been used in numerous advertisements, most notably for Old Navy.
Previously best known as the third host of a long-running children’s breakfast cartoon program Cheez TV in Australia, she has appeared in numerous Australian television serials. She is now based in Los Angeles.
“Don’t Let Me Fall” was featured in a television commercial for Telus in Canada. “The Show” has been featured as soundtrack for an Old Navy as well as an Ugly Betty commercial, the film Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, the 2009 Spring Campaign of the Polish TV Station TVN (Poland), and was promoted as an iTunes Free Single of the Week. The songs “Trouble Is a Friend” and “Live Like You’re Dying” were featured in Grey’s Anatomy and “Trouble is a Friend”, “Don’t Let Me Fall”, “The Show”, and “We Will Not Grow Old” were featured in the teen drama 90210.
Lenka has been heavily promoted by her new record company, Epic Records, including making appearances on the late-night network television interview shows in America, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and The Tonight Show singing “The Show” with her full band.
On the week of 3 November 2008, “The Show” debuted at number 71 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart.
On February 2nd 2009 Lenka performed her first sold out show in Toronto, Canada which she played a remix version of “The Show” as her encore.

hot song of the week 5
Came across this song on [V] Tunes on Star World. I am not a fan of this kind of songs, but I liked it the first time I heard it. They are not on mainstream, but I believe they will, soon. So, the hot song of the week is On My Way by Billy Boy on Poison. The already have a music video, but can’t find it, so apologies for this Gossip Girl-ish video.

“Wound up by God or the Devil” - now there’s a term that you would easily apply to Billy Boy on Poison’s frantic, teen, rock superstar in the making, young Davis LeDuke. Born and most definitely bred in LA, Davis and his fellow Droogs, Ryan, Greg and cousin Jessi make up the glitter-bombed, glam-soaked, Rockasaurus Rex that is Billy Boy on Poison.
The band, who took their name from Burgess’ seminal novel “A Clockwork Orange”, have spent their formative years plying their trade up and down the Sunset Strip. While their classmates dodge groundings to come and check out the band, this LA four piece have made musicology their major. The raw power of the rabble rousing ten tracks that appear on their forthcoming debut album ‘Drama Junkie Queen’ is their song sheet. The dedicated ground work mean the band are, despite their tender years, a potent live brew.
‘On My Way,’ a rip roaring slice of good time drunken esque rock n roll with razor riffs, stompin’ drums and screaming vox is the US debut single which dropped April 14th 2009.
Lyrics:
I’m standing at your back porch baby
Come answer your door
I’ll give you what you want little lady
Can’t take any more
Hey!
If it’s love that you want from me
No way!
I’m just a boy with a melody
There’s no way I’ll stay here all night…
No way!
I’m creeping through your hallway darling
Coming to make you sweat
I’ll make it to your bedroom, honey
I can make you wet
Hey!
If it’s love that you want from me
No way!
I’m just a boy with a melody
And I’d love to stay here but I gotta be on my way
I’m on my way (x2)
I’m knocking a

This is a new song from Pinoy band Kamikazee called ‘Wala’. To Filipinos, you know who are they talking about.

Napanuod sa telebisyon,
Mag iisteyt op di neysyon,
Nakamit daw ekspekteysyon,
Sa kanyang imagineysyon
Walang nangyare, wala naman nabago
Parehong kwento, sino ba ang niloloko mo?
Wala naman kaming napala,
Wala! Wala! Wala! Wala!
Meron pa bang naniniwala?
Wala! Wala! Wala! Wala!
Wala ka naman kasing nagawa.
Wala! Wala! Wala! Wala!
Wala na sayonh naniniwala!
Sabi mo merong solusyon
Sa paberti at mas starbeysyon,
Nabawasan daw konsumisyon,

Pero walang nangyari, walang nagbago

hot song of the week 4
This supposed to be the HSotW last week, but I find Knock ou Down more interesting, but this song is good also. The Hot Song of the Week is This Way by Michelle Branch. Let’s go country for a while.

On October 31, 2007, Michelle Branch announced that she was working on a new solo album. On April 10, 2008, at her first solo concert in almost 4 years, Branch announced the title of her third studio album as Everything Comes and Goes. During June 2008, she has played several live shows in preparation for the albums release with her sister Nicole singing backing vocals. Michelle released two new photos for the album and shot the “This Way” clip with photographer Raphael Mazucco.
Lyrics:
I don’t know how long it’s been going on
I don’t know how long colours were changing to gray
It’s kinda funny that I act this way
I don’t know how long you’ve been holding on
I don’t know how long everything’s been my fault
It’s getting easier to take the blame
It’s getting easier to try and change
Too many times I have told you
That I was okay
But I’m finally feeling like I can explain myself
I’m not claiming that I know everything
No I’m not
Because you made me this way
I don’t know how long I can justify it
I’m tired of making up reasons you’re not on my side
And I would never talk to her that way
No I would never talk to her that way
Too many times I have told you
That I was okay
But I’m finally feeling like I can explain myself
I’m not claiming that I know everything
No I’m not
Because you made me this way
Too many times I have told you
That I was okay
But I’m finally feeling like I can explain myself
I’m not claiming that I know everything
No I’m not
Oh
Too many times I have told you
That I was okay
But I’m finally feeling like I can explain myself
I’m not claiming that I know everything
No I’m not
Because you made me this way
You made me this way
I don’t know how long it’s been going on

hot song of the week 3
The Hot Song of the Week is “Knock You Down” by Keri Hilson ft. Kanye West and Ne-Yo.

“Knock You Down” is set to be the fourth U.S. single from Keri Hilson’s debut album, In a Perfect World…. It was written by Nathaniel Hills, Marcella Araica, Kevin “KC” Cossom, Shaffer Smith, Keri Hilson and Kanye West. Like most of the songs on the album Keri Hilson made final ammendments to the song before it was recorded. Danja is executively produced the single. She said that she had always wanted to work with Ne-Yo and Kanye West, and West’s vocals were a last minute addition to the single. The single also features guest vocals from rapper Kanye West and pop/R&B singer Ne-Yo.
Lyrics:
[Keri Hilson]
Not again
Oh this ain’t supposed to happen to me
[Kanye West]
Keep rockin and keep knockin’
Whether you’re louis vuittonin it up, or reebokin
You see the hate that they serving on a plater
So what we gon have dessert or disaster?
[Keri Hilson]
I never thought I’d be in love like this
When I look at you my mind goes on a trip
Then you came in and knocked me on my face
Feels like I’m in a race but I already won first place
I never thought I fall for you as hard as I did (as hard as I did, yeah)
You got me thinking about our life, our house and kids (Yeah)
Every morning I look at you and smile
Cause boy you came around and you knocked me down (knocked me down)
[Chorus]
Sometimes love comes around (love comes around, love comes around)
and it knocks you down
just get back up
when it knocks you down (knocks you down)
Sometimes love comes around
and it knocks you down
just get back up
when it knocks you down (knocks you down)
[Ne-Yo]
I never thought I hear myself say
Ya’ll gon hate
I think I’m going to kick it with my girl today
I used to be commander-in-chief for my pimp ship flying high
Till i met this pretty little missile, who shot me out the sky
So now I’m crashing don’t know how it happened
but i know it feels so damn go

This week on HSotW, I will feature the current Billboard Hot 100, Pop 100 and Canadian Hot 100, no. 1 single, Boom Boom Pow. It is the latest single of the American hip hop group Black Eyed Peas.

“Boom Boom Pow” is a song by the Black Eyed Peas released as the lead single from their upcoming album The E.N.D.. All members of the Black Eyed Peas use the Auto-Tune effect on the song.
