As the Year of the Priest kicked off last Friday, let us not forget all those men discerning the call-- and those currently in seminaries studying. I am joyful to report that I know four young men formally beginning seminary studies this fall. During this time, may they be strengthened and nourished by the prayers of the Church.

Now THIS is a Christmas tree!!

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the death of Pope Pius XII of happy memory. I have a great devotion to Pius XII, and I could write much about him. Soon I probably will... but tonight it's late and I'm going to bed.
But I leave you with this video of his funeral-- pretty impressive! I thought it was interesting that the guards didn't let people linger in front of his body long-- I can tell you firsthand, nothing has changed! They did the same to us when we paid our respects to John Paul II.

Maybe we should send this to our Congressmen? What happened to Section 7 of Article 1 of the US Constitution?

This is great!! At a time when America is sick of golden parachutes and corrupt CEOs, this is a breath of fresh air.

Now, we all know that we can't move to another country just because our candidate doesn't win the presidential election. Lots of people have threatened to do so, but do any of them actually do it?

I will be voting for McCain come November. Is he the perfect presidential candidate? No. (Am I the perfect coordinator of campus ministry and catechetics? No.)

Am I voting for him to keep Obama out of the White House?
Yes.
Am I ashamed of this? Not.at.all.
