SPI for New Year's
Every year, the Baughs go to South Padre Island on Christmas Day and stay though the New Year. Emma got to go to the beach, play in the sand and walk in the gulf. The last couple days, she and Bubbsie fed the seagulls.
Marshall Christmas
We celebrated Christmas in Marshall (really, outside of Jefferson, at the River House) this year. We were there for eight days and had tons of fun. Emma learned to walk behind a pushcart and really blossomed into a little girl. She's become more vocal, saying hi and bye, and she learned to blow kisses. She got a ball pit/swimming pool from Santa and a Radio Flyer from her Honey and Papaw!
Baugh Christmas 2008
This year, we celebrated Christmas on Dec. 19th at GG and G3's house in San Antonio. Emma met her great aunt and uncle, Aunt Edie and Uncle Dave. And she got some really fun playthings from her great-grandparents, along with a drum from her grandparents. She also got some great books from Auntie Amanda!
Thanksgiving 2008
Wow, it's been a LONG time since we've posted anything on the blog. So get ready because here comes an onslaught of slide shows. This is from Emma's first Thanksgiving. You'll see her helping Bubbsie do some composting, and you'll see her hanging out with her Gramps.
Emma's first Halloween...
Emma's Honey made her a pumpkin tutu for her first Halloween. Unfortunately, she only tolerated the costume for a quick round of photos. You'll see in the final pic that she went with a straight black outfit for the remainder of the night...
hodge podge....
Here's a collection of various photos, including from the International Accordion Festival, some time with friends, and more.
JazzSAlive -- San Antonio's Jazz Festival
We took Emma to the San Antonio Jazz Festival a few weeks ago. It may have been the first concert she'd been to. And she loved it. Her eyes were trained on the stage (though it wasn't hard. Two performers in a band from New Orleans were wearing traditional Mardi Gras Indians' garb. It was impossible for anyone not to be enthralled.)
'Shades' goes to the pool...
Today was Emma's second trip to the swimming pool. This time, she was much more prepared for her little adventure -- with a sun hat, shades, and a two-piece suit. As we walked into the JCC, she got lots of compliments on her attire -- specifically the sunglasses. Thanks Honey!!!
Workin' the Fauxhawk
Emma's hair continues to thin and turn more and more red. She's still got quite a quaff down the center of her scalp and in the back of her head, but the sides are getting to be pretty bare. This weekend, her fauxhawk was out in full force, and we captured some pretty excellent moments. Same disclaimer as always -- there are a lot of fairly repetitive photos in this slideshow, but they're of Emma, so how could they ever get boring? Enjoy!
Another UFO sighting...
I mean really, can she get any friggin' cuter???
Dad's Day '08
We celebrated Father's Day at my parents' house, and when we arrived, I was forced to wear a paper crown. It wasn't just me -- my dad, grandfather and Roland, my parents' next-door neighbor, all wore them for the day's festivities.Be sure to check out Emma's outfit. Her maternal grandparents gave that to her the day she was born. It says "Dad's Team" on it. And for our first Dad's Day, Honey and Papoo gave Emma and me our first baseball/softball set. It's AWESOME. She'll be hittin' grand slams in no time!

Second Sunday on Bamburgh...
As you view this slide show, you'll see a decent amount of repetition. But it's worth it. In a matter of minutes, Emma went from wearing her duck towel to her bear hat. (The photo of Miss Emma with her Big Papi was from the morning.)

We're officially wired again. Time Warner was out today installing our cable, phone and internet. The 'net rocks. It's literally twice as fast as our connection in Austin, and you know what that means, don't you??? What, you ask? It means lots more pictures!!!!

Until then...
Gettin' settled....
Last weekend, we moved all our stuff from Austin to San Antonio. We couldn't have done it without the amazing help from our friends Uncle Q and Philip. This weekend was spent unpacking....and unloading another trailer, which Ashley's parents graciously loaded in Austin (when Ashley moved out of the South Austin house), stored in Marshall, and then drove down to San Antone on Friday.
We now have washer and dryer, a second fridge, a dining room table, an old desk I'd restored, hoses, lawn furniture, and the l
