Hilarious star-studded take on Prop 8

This is what happens when you’re paying more attention to the election than pop culture: you don’t realize “Dolemite” Rudy Ray Moore passed on from complications of diabetes on October 19.  Easily the most outrageous of all heroes of blaxploitation (although he disliked the term), Moore became an icon for a new generation of hip-hopsters renting out his hilarious, kick-ass low-budget movies. Best known for his work with The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Mitchell was quite simply one of the best drummers in all of rock history. The first time I ever heard Hendrix’s “Fire,” it was the incredible drumline that struck me first, not the guitar. It’s still one of the most exciting I’ve ever heard. Here’s the Experience playing that tune at the Royal Albert Music Hall in 1969.
