It's Not All Bad News (part 2) - An interview with Laura Santamaria, editor of Sublime (-the 1st int. sustainable lif
Hearing about what James has done (vimeo.com/7628143) was very inspiring. But there is after all, only so much we, as consumers can do. So I went in search of someone working in the media, who not only shared his vision, but was implementing it too. Uncovering Sublime, the first international sustainable lifestyle magazine, put a really big smile on my face. Printing on recycled paper is just the tip of the iceberg. Their ethos, approach, and content are grounded in wholesome living. And as if that's not en
It's Not All Bad News (part 1) - An interview with James Mummery from the 'Free Newspapers Cost the Earth' campaign
In London alone, more than 1.7 million free newspapers are distributed daily. But the fact is that the appetite for free print media is utterly insatiable, no matter which city in the world you're in. Throw in all the other newspapers and magazines, and the amount of paper needed to meet demand is quite astonishing. That's the bad news out of the way. Well, almost. Whilst none of this is breaking the bank for the consumer, there is, a very high environmental cost to be paid. The good news is that people are
Q&A with Ed Miliband
Recipe for a rather interesting night out:

Step 1: Take one highly acclaimed climate change documentary

Step 2: Mix with an audience heaving with questions

Step 3: Add a very late, yet entirely eager Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change

Step 4: Sit back and enjoy!
Down in the Dumps
As part of Channel 4 reality show 'Dumped', Jason Blair and ten others spent three weeks living on a fully functioning dump, right next to a landfill site. I went to meet him to see if his environmental views have since changed, and what he thinks it will take to alter the way we think about rubbish...

Down in the Dumps
The way we Brits throw rubbish into big, smelly holes in the ground, anyone would think it was going out of fashion. I went to meet Jason Blair, one of 11 people who, back in 2007 spent three weeks in one such smelly hole. With 3 weeks living on, and indeed off other people’s rubbish, Channel 4’s reality show ‘Dumped’ adds a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘down in the dumps’…
Green Piece: An interview with the Young Greens
With one million voters, the Green Party is now more than ever part of mainstream British politics. I went to meet Councillor Alex Phillips, the female Co-Chair of the Young Greens - the youth wing of the Green Party. I asked her about climate, controversy and of course, Copenhagen...

Home is Where the Heart is
These days, knowing all of your neighbours is indeed a rarity. At the Dyssekilde eco-village, the 175 inhabitants really go the extra mile (on foot of course!) and embrace every aspect of communal living imaginable. The caring and sharing even goes as far as having a communal car pool and the world’s largest willow wastewater cleansing facility.

As participants in the Th!nk 2 Climate Change blogging competition, a group of bloggers from all over the world were fortunate enough to spend the day there and interview some of the locals. A place reserved for unwashed hippy vegetarians, I hear you cry! Well, think again…

'Home is Where the Heart is' offers a glimpse of this, an almost other-worldly existence.

(I'm trying out a new idea - choosing your own soundtrack! Home is a personal place, so put on some music that reminds you of being there, sit back and enjoy the film...)
