Sorting By Colors
Today we did a sorting by color exercise during Preschool Time. Sorting and classifying helps children begin to notice how things are alike and different, and it creates an awareness that is vital for math learning.Collected in littleredbarnps's videos Feb 3, 2012 -

Tales from the First Grade-Day 2
James always has a story to tell after school. He tells his Daddy and I EVERYTHING that happened. When Clara was in the first grade and I'd ask her, "How was your day?" She'd say, "Good!" but NOT James, oh no! He lays it all out, word-for-word.Collected in littleredbarnps's videos Nov 30, 2011 -
Audrey & Amelia's Disagreement
Audrey and Amelia had a little disagreement over who was on the horse first (I have THREE horses!) This is an opportunity for each child involved to work disputes on their own.Collected in littleredbarnps's videos Nov 30, 2011 -
Magic Coat Trick!
By now your child will NOT allow you to put them on their jackets/coats because of the Magic Coat Trick. Don't get alarmed if they throw their jackets on the floor and proceed to put them on upside-down. They know what they are doing because they know what will result from such a production. I am SO excited each time I witness a child practicing independence! We do dressing exercises each day; from coats and shoes to pants and socks. I want them to know how to button, zip, snap and fasten every notion imagiCollected in littleredbarnps's videos Nov 30, 2011 -

The November Song
This song is one I made up on the fly. Mister Phil liked it so much that he thought it should be sang everyday for the kids to understand the month. I had him record me singing it just in case I would forget the tune or lyrics the next day! Here's an original that your child knows now! Watch!Collected in littleredbarnps's videos Nov 22, 2011 -

Happy Thanksgiving!
We made our Thanksgiving Day head gear. No, I didn't give each child a choice on whether they wanted to be an Indian or a Pilgrim. I chose based on personality and character whether the character fit them, kind of like a casting director of a movie. I believe I chose the best person for each role. The kids loved wearing their head gear and jumping into the role of a pilgrim girl or boy on the Mayflower or an Indian chief or woman in a village. They were making up stories and games using their hats and theirCollected in littleredbarnps's videos Nov 22, 2011 -
