Sweeeet, baby! All I can say is that when I was a freshman in college, on my dorm room wall were posters of the Beatles, Robert Smith of the Cure, and a lovely one of jets (F-18s in 1988?) I wasn't a typical girl, let's just say that. :-)

I post this in celebration of my son's eighth birthday today. When he was born, I wasn't really ready to be a mom, and with my poor health I spent a lot of time lamenting being a mom and not being up to the task, and regretting my station in life. I am grateful that my son doesn't have much interest in the computer at age 8 beyond interacting with applications involving holidays and animals on Facebook, and I am at the controls. Interesting what kids can do for their history projects these days. I'm just happy that they remember and are aware of their history and the debt we owe to the lives lost that day!

My son just happened to be born on the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack (quite amusing considering my husband and I are history buffs), and when he is old enough to understand we will take him there on his birthday to commemorate the lives lost for our freedom.

I post this in memory of all those who dies, and in gratitude for their unwilling and unwitting sacrifices. We still remember and mourn you . . .

Funny show, with Denis Leary as guest, promoting the Rescue Me Uncensored book. I wish I lived in New York so I could go to Borders to buy the book and get the cast to sign it! My husband and I love that show, and we can't for the most recent season to come out on DVD (we don't have satellite or cable to catch it during the regular season).
