Equally special, for me at least, are two other arias by Callas that that tug at the heart. In each case the emotion seems to be wrapped inside a mysterious and noble dignity.
Her "Ebben, ne andro lontana", "La mamma morta" and "Voi lo sapete" grip me time after time in this way.

Jessye Norman sings the "Liebestod" from Wagners "Tristan und Isolde", conducted by Herbert von Karajan and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchester. I think this is just perfect, a beautiful piece of music and although some see him as contraversial, it must be said that Herbert von Karajan is a real magician in front of an orchestra.
