Richard Murphy of taxresearch.org.uk has just become the first independent blogger to aks a question at an international summit the scale of G20. He asked Gordon Brown about Tax Havens.

Is this important, do bloggers bring a different perspective or should we worry that by bringing bloggers into such events we effect their impact.

What is the BBC's Your Story citizen journalism project?

Mayhill Fowler was a citizen journalist for the Huffington Post who broke a story during Barack Obama's campaign. She has been talking to the BBC about the role of citizen journalists and her forthcoming contribution to the BBC Your Story project for Inauguration Day Jan 20th 2009.

This interview has been sent in by citizen journalist, Trukker from Rejkjavik in Iceland. I am posting this video to the Your Story blog to explain why we are unable to use it for broadcast or coverage on our website. I am working with Trukker to get some more interviews which will hopefully be great!

Another protest was held today in downtown Reykjavik. Mostly peaceful and the same demands as before - Election as soon as possible and new governors at the Icelandic Central Bank. It is cold here - around the minus zero celsius. But there were around ten thousand people downtown.
Toilet paper was thrown at the parliament building and also eggs and tomatoes. People also gave the few policemen that were downtown flowers and were very kind to them.
This financial crisis is also hurting them.
