My Answer to Sarah Palin
Sarah you have moved into a special realm. You have gotten the attention of millions of people, many of which trust you. No longer are you talking to a few people in Alaska, what you say effects the whole country. Giving those expected Beauty Queen answers like "save the world" or this paragraph from your Facebook post:
The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.
So let me please act like so many of your brethren Republican scare tactic experts (and believe me at this you are only as good as your ghost writer and some of theirs are better. I did like the "death panel" line though.)
There are over five health care bills on the table two were written by politicians from both parties, non have been voted on. In the senate one has gone to committee and passed with over one hundred and forty nine Republican amendments. Therefore you relying on Thomas Sowell's evaluation is just as good as the finacial institutions reliance on the rating companies for mortgages. You can't rate something that doesn't exist. You can't tell me what it will cost until you can tell me what it intends to do.
