Are you ready to dedicate your life to education?
This Youtube video is the same one that all of your teachers watched at the beginning of this school year. The one fact that shocked me more than anything else is, "There are more honor students in China than there are people in North America."
This fascinates me to no end. If I was to ask you if education is important, most of you would raise your hand. Although, when I asked if you would support "year-round schooling," you starting grumbling things like, "That is stupid" or "I wouldn't go to school anymore."
How are we supposed to compete with other countries that place so much emphasis on education? What can we do to compete with these other countries? Or should we just wait and see if things will just "work themselves out"? What is going to happen if students keep taking the "easy" way out and placing little to no emphasis on education?
