Skyzoo “Popularity” | mtvU
I'll be the first to admit that I wasnt the biggest Skyzoo fan in the world but after hearing his debut album "The Salvation" I am officially on the bandwagon. This is his video for his single Popularity with a play on the Saved By The Bell show. Enjoy and support hip hop.
DE LA SOUL & NIKE
Can hip hop and commercialism go hand and hand? Will there always be this need for rebellion in hip hop? These are questions that "us" as golden era hip hop listeners have to address when we got hyped about Public Enemy criticizing Nike in "Shut Em Down" then cringed at the image of Rakim on Hennessey banners. Where is the line drawn? Well here comes another grey arear on the line De La Soul the most innovative, creative never mainstream group of all time has linked with Nike's Original R-U-N series to make
Brother Ali- Good Lord VIDEO
FiNALLY the video for Brother Ali's song "GOOD LORD" was released by three21media recently and it was well worth the wait. This is by far one of my favorite songs and the video which was directed by Rik Cordero is a beautiful expression of the personality of Muslims and really showed a side of Muslims rarely seen in mainstream media. Brother Ali's music is truly an inspiration to many and an incredible lyricist so check out the video and cop The Truth Is Here EP in stores now.
Murs - The Science
Lost in all the commotion about the kiss with Roxy Reynolds in the trilogy of relationship videos, Murs dropped a video for *my favorite song* off the Murs For President album titled "The Science." This song Murs really simplifies the origin of hip hop for a commercial audience but still is lyrical and creative with the history lesson. Pick up the album Murs For President in stores now.

Foreign Exchange- Take Off Your Blues VIDEO
In the upcoming episode of Neglected Sound Radio that will be released this week, we discussed underground music that you can still dance/groove to in the clubs. This song by Foreign Exchange (Phonte & Nicolay) featuring Darien Brockington is a perfect example of soulful music with respectful lyrics and a nice groove. This is good old two step music where you can actually see the girl face you are dancing with for once. So enjoy the new video from Foreign Exchange- Take Off Your Blues and if you haven't alr
Skillz-Hip Hop Confessions
You ever had a dirty little hip hop secret? Something that might destroy your hip hop credibility. Imagine if your best friend had never heard a Rakim album or didnt know who DJ Premier was? Well Skillz put ogether a show based on the idea, Hip Hop Confessions, is one of the rawest and truest shows I have seen recently. It is about being open and honest about your true feelings about hip hop minus the politics or political correctness. Be sure to place some of your hip hop confessions in the comments.
