In conjunction with Faith Network of the East Bay, Sequoyah is embarking on a partnership with Hoover School in North Oakland as we work together to close the achievement gap in their school's English Language Arts (ELA) scores.

This is a great opportunity, requiring a short portion of your time every week and no prior experience. All we need is your availability and the willingness to love kids. What better way to live the Gospel of Jesus than to sit and read with kids who need your help?

Dear Hosts -

Thanks for agreeing to host our December Fun Family Friday "Make Something" Party. Some particulars:

- We're running this from 7:00pm - 8:30pm
- I'll need you to be here between 6:30pm - 8:45pm
- You should be familiar enough with your craft to comfortably help others on a 1-on-1 or small group basis
- If you don't have a craft, I'll have several on stand-by that you can help direct people toward

I'll have the room set up with tables, music on a boombox, and some holiday themed snacks. Just make sure all the lights are off, food is taken from the premises, and trash is in garbage cans. (I'll hand the key off to one of you on Wednesday.)
