Popeye: Lumberjack and Jill (1949)
Popeye and Bluto share a logging camp. Their new cook, Olive, arrives. Bluto takes every opportunity to make Popeye look bad, saddling him with Olive's baggage, making a stove he's about to light explode, and beating him out of the opportunity to rescue Olive from a hazard of Bluto's creation. Popeye eventually has his spinach and beats off Bluto just in time to rescue Olive. But even a spinach-energized Popeye is no match for Olive's cooking.Collected in Popeye-E-Licious Dec 19, 2008 -

Bluto muscles out Popeye to take Olive to the fair. Popeye rushes ahead and poses as a fortune teller, luring Olive in. He shows Olive her future (actually, her past) in the crystal ball: first, a clip of a mountain climbing sequence that culminates in Bluto assaulting Olive. Then, a clip from another amusement park showing strongman Bluto stealing Olive away to a roller-coaster while Popeye rings a strength-testing bell repeatedly. Olive, having seen this, no longer wants anything to do with Bluto and walkCollected in Popeye-E-Licious Dec 19, 2008 -

But on arrival, he's run over by Olive, who immediately leaves him alone with his nephews, who are practicing home defense. Popeye falls for their booby-trapped hammock, and also barely survives the demonstrations of their other skills, notably camouflage. He ends up in a beehive; the dCollected in Popeye-E-Licious Dec 19, 2008 -

Popeye: My Pop, My Pop (1940)

Popeye: Pleased to Meet Cha! (1935)

She catches them, and tells them one will have to leave. Bluto tells Popey that whoever does the best trick can stay. As a result, they find ever more creative ways to abuse each other, much to Olive's merriment. Eventually, though, they start destroying her house, and Olive throws them both out, for a little while, anyhowCollected in Popeye-E-Licious Dec 19, 2008 -

Bluto then discovers that Olive has been thrown into his train by the force of the starting gun, so he makes her shovel his coal; she jumps to Popeye's train at the first chance.
