This is the end of the gala performance at the Metropolitan Opera from 1998, honoring the thirtieth anniversary of Luciano Pavarotti's debut at the Met.

His final curtain call (with conductor James Levine) from the night's performance is included, as well as the tributes to Pavarotti from Met General Manager Joseph Volpe and then-mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani. Pavarotti responds with a few words to the audience.
