Top Gear's Ad for the Honda FCX Clarity
You may notice that they made a huge stink about the Tesla's price, but conveniently forgot to mention the Clarity's, which is somewhere around a million per car right now. And that's not just because it isn't in production. A lot of it has to do with the reliance on one of the most expensive metals on the planet (platinum) as a catalyst. Top Gear tests the Tesla Roadster
An interesting segment which is really hard on those poor Teslas. On one hand, they are being fair, since it sure does look like a track car, though, it's never really been marketed as such, apart from quoting it's 0-60 time. Plus, it had low-rolling-resistance tires on it. If anyone really bought a Tesla to drive it around a track, I'm sure the first thing they would do would be to put some decent tires on it!Collected in Phil's Videos Dec 15, 2008 -
