Heckler FAIL
hey fella, you still got this video? It doesn't seem to play any more, was going to post it on my blog.
Heckler FAIL
Just found this thanks to 'theprawnofmogul'. This video is a crack-cocaine-drunk heckler getting thrown out of design seminar after she ranted for three minutes. It was amusing to deal with and I think the video cuts before you hear my comeback to the audience, just as the heckler was being escorted out of the building, which was 'You'll have to excuse my Mother.' WIN

Print Porn#2
Visiting the printers the other day to see the book I've just finished designing I just became mesmerized by the printing machines and then the whole processing plant became one big fascination, much to the amusement f the printers.

Right at the end the machine makes a mistake, it's intense.

Vodafone Blackberry
I was commissioned by Digit London to art direct, design and animate this motion sequence for a Vodafone installation at Heathrow, Terminal 1.
The animation itself is just over a minute long.
Its purpose was to attract the eye of businessmen/women. The objective was to promote the unique services and functions that this phone had to offer for its users.
The animation played on a 50" plasma screen that turned on its side; hence the unusual 'non-PAL' format.
The plasma screen was built in to a six foot model of the Vodafone BlackBerry 7100v phone, which is housed in a 'pod-like' unit for interested on-lookers to find out more information.
Due to success of the pod and the animation Vodafone ordered fourteen BlackBerry pods to be made and sent them on a worldwide promotional tour.

Sunday Times / Nirvana
The Sunday Times constantly surprised us with their willingness to allow us to develop design styles that are, for a paper like The Times, quite challenging.
This 'feature' was on Nirvana and Kurt Cobain; a subject we are all familiar with at Plan-B Studio. This video represents the 60sec intro edit that I compiled.
Such a pleasure to work with a subject that we know so well. From a design perspective there was only one way to design this feature. Taking inspiration from the likes of David Carson (Raygun) and BlahBlahBlah Magazine, it was clear that to fit with the time and the feeling the only method was to use a scalpal, magic tape and a photocopier; which made for interesting moments when copy changes came in!

Sunday Times / The Incredibles
When I found out that our last feature was going to be designing something in support of the new pixar movie The Incredibles I was, to say the least, very pleased. Not least because we went to a preview screening at Pixar!
When the subject matter is this rich we developed the whole feature around the idea of it being created from a storyboard, just as the film was.
Here is the 60sec intro movie that I edited and compiled together with the VO and additional sound design (by Steve Nolan/Nosebleed).
I designed all the pages, printed them out and stuck them to our studio wall then traced each page with a black marker pen, then 'painted' them in photoshop to give us an interactive menu that then allowed the user to go to each or every part of the story/feature. A great way to end our involvement with the cdrom.

Diesel-U-Music 2007
TV titles
.................................................................
The theme for the awards show (decided by Diesel) was inspired by Toulouse Letrec, with an old Parisian/cinematic feel to it given the venue was KoKo in Camden, London.
I wanted to include the hybrid-animals that were used throughout the entire campaign. Given that this is a global competition and the awards show has international nominees fly for the awards I wanted the animals to be 'travelling' through the title sequence. Created with a very 'cine' film feel and aniamted by two fantastic animators Linda Kalcov and Mia Nilsson.I also brought Ben Ridley onboard to design the sound using three tracks from last years finalists (as we had usage rights for those tracks). To echo the rought, cut and paste transitions it leant itself perfectly to the sound being cut between genres of music.
