I know, I know. It's really difficult to stay away from the rodeo.It's kinda addictive.

Another first for me.

I got hammered on this one because my alcohol tolerance is really low. Had to hang out at the brewery for a number of hours before I headed back to the office. Drinking and driving is not a good thing.

Since the launch of the zipline video, every Friday morning there's a new video of my adventures in the city. I wasn't given any restriction by my editors. Well, I have to make sure that the video is actually family friendly because we're a family newspaper. Another adventure I've never had was doing yoga exercise. And I did it really hot place. Well, not burning hot, but it's hot enough to make you sweat heavily.

After I got some good following with my Stampede videos, I was asked to keep it going. And that's when Adventures with Renato was born.
For my first video on this gig, I went to the Canada Olympic Park, where there's a zipline that people can go down on. I'm afraid of heights, so this was very uncomfortable. And to get the all the clips we need in producing this video, I had to do it twice, so the videographer can get shoots both directions of me coming down away and towards the camera. The most awkward piece I did was the tarot card and palm readings. She went on and on about me getting married to a woman and having three children. What I didn't tell her was the fact that I am gay. This was one of the most important day in my life as a journalist. I came out to the readers of the Calgary Sun. I didn't have to, but it was a liberating experience and one that I won't forget for the rest of my life.

This video was most fun of all. I tried to go under the spell of hypnotist Terry Stokes. It worked but not 100%. I was conscious and I knew what was happening, but I had not control. I was relaxed and couldn't really fight what was happening.

I had to get up real early one morning so I could get a ride in a chuckwagon before the horses were all set for the day’s race.
