responsibledog Darwin is familiar with signals "side" and "on your mat" but I'm trying to change to "free" for release signal and new "reinforcement signal." Really not bad for first session.

responsibledog End of Day 4 working with Riley. Scott work her with the head collar on during PM Session. I worked earlier off lead to prepare her for wearing the head collar and heeling. Owner will need this "crutch" until she's mastered things on her own!

responsibledog Session 1, teaching "get on mat" then incorporating into normal PM feeding. For Darwin, teaching him using luring to the mat was faster than shaping with clicker, he goofs off so much during initial training, but anything related to food can cause him to be a distracted, frustrated, stressed and anxious! Quality of food, motivation, context, time of day, you name it, it's always context dependent! His early training did not fade lures and/or clicks without food, so beginning training was more like bribing

responsibledog Brutus is having a difficult time accepting a new one year old adolescent female golden retriever into his home. She appears to just want to play, but in some instances they get in vicious fights. I've been taking care of Brutus for several years and have never seen him get into a fight with another dog. Sure, him and Roxie, the other resident dog snipe at each other, but they never fight viciously causing harm, they get along and play too. Sometimes ganging up on a timid cat ! Brutus is from a show line

responsibledog Weimaraner and Doberman playing, both neutered males, Doberman three years, Weimaraner 9 years. This is a great play session between these two dogs. Rascal (Weim) has never really been relaxed enough to play with dogs outside of the couples other Weimaraner. Rascal recently moved in with us, the boys have played like this on two other occasions, but not in house previously. Today, they came in, got settled, played a bit on the floor and are now napping!
