I need a Medic!!!
Does anyone remember the game Wolfenstien for the original Xbox? Hearing screams of  “Medic!!!!!!!” was exhilarating. D-day, moving your way up the beach towards your downed ally, machine gun fire burrowing past your face, than finally making it to the wall to heal. Oh the memories but forgive this nerd utopia moment.

Red Dead Redemption – Debut Trailer
If you played Red Dead Revolver then you have probably been awaiting a sequel since you finished it.  Rockstar’s Wild West shooter was easily one of the best games of it’s kind, well polished and just plain fun to play.  Here we have the debut trailer for the sequel, Red Dead Redemption, from IGN.

Watch for it in the 3rd quarter this year.
APRIL FOOLS!
Ah, April 1st, the most obnoxious day of the year.  I’ve spent a good portion of my day surfing this series of tubes, as I usually do, and have noticed that the entire internet is just one big joke.  I can’t look anywhere or take anything seriously.  I figured instead of doing an April fools of our own it would be better just to do a run-down of everyone else’s.
I’ll start with IGN, they’re April fool’s jokes are usually well done and this one made me chuckle:
Super Smash Bros. Extreme
Next on the list is Gamespot, which has 3:
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: New Playable Character - this one is pretty absurd but certain parts are sort of funny.

Fable II: My Pocket Pets - the best part of this one is Peter Molyneux trying not to laugh.
And thirdly there is a parody trailer for Bioware’s upcoming RPG Dragon Age.  Beware, this one is really nerdy and kind of not funny at all.

Moving right along.  Woot.com, a bargain “deal a day” website tried to cash in on the festivities offering a bag of 3 random items for $3.00 + $1,000,000.00 shipping.  To buy the “Random Crap” as they call it and not have to pay the million dollar shipping charge you needed to read the item description and try to decipher the secret shipping code.  Pretty creative if you ask me.
Rotten Tomatoes, a popular movie rating website (for those of you that don’t know), is also getting in on the fun.  Using their “Weekly Ketchup” as a vehicle for this year’s joke they were able to make some pretty convincing stories, none of which are particularly funny though.  You can read the top ten here.
And to wrap up another April Fools day I will present you with this:

Those are real.  Seriously.
The better Dan Brown book.
Angels and Demons, the prequel to The Davinci Code, and the better of the two novels, comes out in May in theaters, and it looks fantastic. The first movie kind of flopped, but with Ron Howard behind it, along with Obi-Wan Kenobi - it’s lookin’ pretty cool.
The Colonel
If only this were real…
Mass Effect 2
Shake your fuckin’ bones.

Currently slated for a Q1 2010 release which will put it only a few months behind Dragon Age: Origins and hopefully only a few months ahead of The Old Republic.  Bioware Rulez!
Bad Songs Vol. 1
Allow me to follow up on Chris’ awesome post with this little diddy. These guys got signed to a record label.  They make money for making music. Fuck them.

Dead Rising 2 Leaked Trailer?
Legit? Fake? Judge for yourself, but it looks to me like it’s real and will be set inside a casino. Cool, I guess…I don’t know how that can top a shopping mall, though.
Los Banditos
I’m not really Spanish, relax.  I am, however, very excited that the RX Bandits have announced that they are putting out a new album this summer (and possibly going on tour) and I’ve been following them closely waiting for them to give a hint of a date.  Until then I will just listen to the old records and watch videos of them playing various shows when I need my fix.  Lucky for me, and all of you, they have posted two video on their myspace of them in the studio working on some new material and I have to admit, all fanboyism aside, it sounds great.

It’s got a lot of energy and I love the little guitar solo, it’s certainly not something I’m used to seeing them do and it reminds me a lot of Progress for some reason.  And then the second video…

The sound quality of the video isn’t so great but you can imagine what it will sound like once the album is released.  I’m very excited, all of the samples sound awesome the only thing I’m worried about is that lack of horns as it seems that they haven’t gotten anyone to replace Steve Borth on saxophone leaving them with only a trombone player, or as some might say a tromboner.  I thought about that for about 5 minutes and giggled to myself so it’s staying in.
Both of these videos were pulled right of their myspace which seems to be the best source of information about anything they’ve been up to, better than their official website which was only updated twice throughout 2008.
One quick notice before I wrap this one up, over the coming week or two all of the Medic authors and editors will be compiling a big list of the best games of all time, be sure to check it out.
