The fourth, and possibly  best, season of Dexter just wrapped up this past week…and what an ending.   The finale definitely did not disappoint, although I was still waiting for the “huge twist” that Showtime kept bringing up in the ads.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.  Is Asher racist?  No.  Stupid? Maybe.  Naive? Definitely.

I didn’t hate Youth Without Youth as much as a lot of people did.  It was quirky, and definitely not something I expected from Coppola, but Tetro looks a lot better.   It has a Michael Curtiz feel to it…1940’s or 50’s Hollywood.   Also, it’s interesting to see Vincent Gallo cast in this…

David VS Goliath?

I’m still holdin’ to my prediction that Asher Paul bodies Ricky Ross in soundscan (Itunes) numbers for first week.

Music Industry moving more and more to 360 Deals with artists.
I wish I had my old (rapandicks) blog posts, but if you’ve followed me at all (or know me personally) then you’ll know I’ve been saying this very thing FOR YEARS NOW!  I was thinking the industry would have moved this way in 03′, even before the term 360 was around…but the music industry is by far the worst ran Entertainment Industry in the world, and easily the slowest industry period to react to changing trends.
So basically there’s no reason for any talented artist to even sign to a label unless you want (need) that up front money for your project.   Gone are the days of artist development…so basically the wake up call to every artist out there is this “start giving all your material away in a DRM free format…market the hell out of yourself, and build a buzz, cause that’s the only way you’ll truly be successful”.  If you rely on selling CD’s or music you’ll fail.  If you hold onto music without releasing it in a steady stream to the public, you will fail.

Probably a fun dude to have a beer with.  His “As I Em” track goes HARD.
I’m guessing his first week will be around 300K.   We’ll see.
