Until pretty recently I had no idea what "ABC BBD" actually meant. I'm not sure where the epiphany came from but it came just the same, so enter another (late) version of the Flashback Friday post, featuring The East Coast Family. Howcome nothing sounds like this anymore? Happy Saturday.

This video was made over two days on a zero budget by this band called Burning Hank. We think it's pretty good. Check them out on bandcamp and if you dig 'em visit their myspace for more tunes. I feel kinda bad cause I feel like these guys deserve more than a mention in a post. Hopefully they'll throw us more goodies in 2010 so we can do them justice.

But I betchya didn't know he put out music. I did. My friend's dad had the LP when we were in Junior High but I ignored it cause I didn't want to ruin my childhood memories. Haha. Or something. But we listened to it. A lot of it was about getting stoned and drinking. Kinda seemed odd to me when I was 13 - like, what a creep, you know? But it's not like it's been in my mind for 10 years. Checkout this clip of Nirvana performing "School" at the 1992 Reading Festival - I guess it was recently made available for fans and comes from the CD+DVD Nirvana Live At Reading which hits stores November 17th. (CD only version arriving on November 3rd.) Nirvana's performance at the Reading Festival in 1992 was one of the greatest Nirvana shows of all time (not that I've actually ever seen them live on anything other than video/tv) - but it was the one where Kurt Cobain came on stage in a hospital gown. Ring any bells? If not, don't fret - fans can now own a color-corrected video from the original film with audio sourced from the original multi-track masters. The Associates released 'Club Country' on April 26th 1982, which appeared on their third album, Sulk. The B side was a non-LP track. The 12 inch version added "Ulcragyceptemol" (added as a bonus to Sulk when it was re-released) and a remixed version of "Club Country". The single reached the #10 spot on the U.K. singles chart.
