ATH, the first film project of FIXED GEAR ATHENS has tried to document the experience of riding fixed gear bikes in Athens, Greece. Starring completely amateur riders, its target is to display a side of the city that is not being documented. Athens on a fixed gear bike is no just a poluted, claustophobic, traffic congested metropolis. It is also about colours, seaside, hills, fun and friends staying together. Enjoy.

After slamming and breaking our prototypes in public and in front of cameras, we finally started production of the Kilroy frame. The tests that Wonka ran lead to the conclusion that we had to manufacture a tube set just for this frame, with particular reinforced parts to absorb and handle the stress of the jumps. Together with Columbus we decided to change the alloy in order to avoid very thick and heavy tubes and gain in strength nevertheless. We are proud to present the first freestyle frame in Niobium steel. The Columbus Niobium steel is a special micro alloyed steel with Manganese, Chrome, Nickel, Molybdenum and Niobium that is designed to provide superior mechanical properties

We went to Italy for the launch of the production and invited Wonka to join us and get involved into the process of creation. Thanks to Renaud Skyronka for filming this monumental happening.

Emerge Miami is an organization that prides itself on strengthening social bonds between individuals in the Miami community all while trying to save the environment by bicycling their way to a cleaner earth. The group teams up with several organizations including One Sky and Bike Miami Days to promote their goals. The group holds several rides a month including Critical Mass Rides and Bike Miami Days. Adam Schachner, a long time Emerge Miami member, tells us why the group is important, how it is evolving and the little things we can do to make this world a better place to live in. We can track our own success by calculating our carbon footprints. These footprints reflect the damage we are doing to the environment from our carbon gas emissions due to trash build-up, the cars we depend on and many other sources you wouldn't even think of. A glimpse of a friend and athlete by the name of Pete Billington. Film by Landis Fields, Zac Wollons, Punn Wiantrakoon, and Brian Berringer. Directed and Edited by Landis Fields. The project required 2 locations. All of the outdoor shots were taken out of the back/top of a four door jeep wrangler going up Mount Tamalpais. Everything else took place on a stage in a controlled studio environment that was lit using 2 soft boxes. The entire film was shot on 2 canon 7D's (mostly at 60p for "slow-mo" flexibility later on while editing) and 1 Canon 5D at 30p which was conformed to a 24 frame timeline. All cameras were equipped with different lenses that fit the needs of each shot. Music by A Perfect Circle - Outsider (Apocalypse Remix). I hope you enjoy the film as much as we did creating it.
