This song has the, probably, the most catchy beat and lyrics in the 3 songs I heard on [V] tunes. This song is not that new, but I haven’t heard it aside from Channel [V], so I think, that makes it a HSotW material. Here’s Lady Sovereign, I Got You Dancing.

Louise Amanda Harman (born 19 December 1985), known as Lady Sovereign, is an English rapper. She has been compared to both Melanie Chisholm (namely her Sporty Spice persona), as “another lily-white rap sensation.” Lady Sovereign is notable for her adoption of a relatively masculine appearance and aggressive delivery, donning athletic gear and mocking the characteristics traditionally associated with her gender. This stands in sharp contrast to female artists in similar genres, such as bassline house’s more traditionally feminine Zoe.
“I Got You Dancing” (produced by Dr. Luke) is the first single from UK hip hop artist Lady Sovereign’s forthcoming album, Jigsaw. The single was confirmed on her official website as the first single from Jigsaw. Following the trends of other musicians, Lady Sovereign announced that “I Got You Dancing” would be a free track. It has since been made available to download from her official MySpace page. The song itself features heavy usage of the Auto-Tune effect made popular by artist’s such as T-Pain.

Came across this song on [V] Tunes on Star World. I am not a fan of this kind of songs, but I liked it the first time I heard it. They are not on mainstream, but I believe they will, soon. So, the hot song of the week is On My Way by Billy Boy on Poison. The already have a music video, but can’t find it, so apologies for this Gossip Girl-ish video.

Born and most definitely bred in LA, Davis and his fellow Droogs, Ryan, Greg and cousin Jessi make up the glitter-bombed, glam-soaked, Rockasaurus Rex that is Billy Boy on Poison.
The band, who took their name from Burgess’ seminal novel “A Clockwork Orange”, have spent their formative years plying their trade up and down the Sunset Strip. While their classmates dodge groundings to come and check out the band, this LA four piece have made musicology their major. The raw power of the rabble rousing ten tracks that appear on their forthcoming debut album ‘Drama Junkie Queen’ is their song sheet. The dedicated ground work mean the band are, despite their tender years, a potent live brew.
‘On My Way,’ a rip roaring slice of good time drunken esque rock n roll with razor riffs, stompin’ drums and screaming vox is the US debut single which dropped April 14th 2009.

The Hot Song of the Week is “Knock You Down” by Keri Hilson ft. Kanye West and Ne-Yo.

“Knock You Down” is set to be the fourth U.S. single from Keri Hilson’s debut album, In a Perfect World…. It was written by Nathaniel Hills, Marcella Araica, Kevin “KC” Cossom, Shaffer Smith, Keri Hilson and Kanye West. Like most of the songs on the album Keri Hilson made final ammendments to the song before it was recorded. Danja is executively produced the single. She said that she had always wanted to work with Ne-Yo and Kanye West, and West’s vocals were a last minute addition to the single. The single also features guest vocals from rapper Kanye West and pop/R&B singer Ne-Yo.

I will start this thread called “Hot Song of the Week” that features new/unknown songs and their lyrics and artist’s/song’s bio. For the week 1, I will feature a song by Lily Allen called ‘Fuck You‘.

Why I love her: She is very unique and her songs are just beautiful. Rehab, Tears Dry on Their Own, Back to Black are just few of her genius works. She has problems, but WTF? She’s great. I love her.
2. Britney Spears

Why I love her: She really made a huge comeback. To be honest, I hate her before, but since that ‘bitchy’ song, Gimme More, I love her. But what I really love about her music is its is fun. My favorite? Piece of Me. Not because of the ‘Philippines’ being included in the song, but it is so fun to listen to, and you will see what celebrities are going through.
3. Lady GaGa

Beautiful Dirty Rich
Why I love her: I kissed her ass at GaGadominated!, but what the heck, I love her. Aside from her bizarre fashion sense and danceable tunes, what I love about her are the uber intelligent lyrics. ‘And baby when it’s love, if its not rough it isn’t fun‘ on Poker Face and ‘Let’s have some fun, this beat is sick, I wanna take a ride on your disco stick‘ on Lovegame. How’s that for a lyric?
4. Sitti

Para sa Akin
Why I love her: You may not now her, but Sitti is a Filipino Bossa Nova singer. Her voice is just beautiful. This kind of voice I can listen to all day. I really love her Tagalog songs, like Para sa Akin and Ikaw pa rin. I also love how she Bossa-fy contemporary song like 2 Become 1 and Tattooed on My Mind.
5. P!nk

So What
Why I love her: Her lyrics and her songs. She has a good hands for writing. Plus, her voice is very P!nk. She has this distinct voice that is really good. When you hear it on radio, you know, it’s P!nk. I love So What, U + Ur Hand and Sober.

Lady GaGa
The first time I first heard ‘Lady GaGa’ was from a friend that says he loves Just Dance. I really did not payed any attention to that. When I was watching MTV, I saw Poker Face, and found out that this Lady GaGa was the singer. I liked it. And all of a sudden Just Dance went to no. 1 at Billboard Hot 100. And since then, I became a fan. I introduced Lady GaGa to some, maybe all, of my college friends. And the learned to love her as well.
This performance on one of my favorite shows, American Idol, made me left in awe. She is such a performer. Even Kara DioGuardi and Paula Abdul was amazed. Watch.

David Cook and David Archuleta
Probably the biggest things that hit Philippines last year are the two Davids of American Idol. And much to the anticipation of their Filipino fans, David Cook and David Archuleta will do a one-night-only show in Manila.
The ‘Time of My Life’ and ‘Crush’ singers will have their concert on May 16, 2009 at the SM Mall of Asia open grounds.
The back-to-back concert of Cook and Archuleta were made possible by Fearless Productions which is co-owned by actor Jomari Yllana and the Singson brothers.

This is the first time all 7 American Idol winners are on one place at the same time. It was all for the grand opening of Disneyland newest attraction, The American Idol Experience. This was also attended by ‘Idol’ host, Ryan Seacrest, judge, Paula Abdul and the creator, Simon Fuller. Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, and the latest American Idol winner, David Cook.
David Archuleta , Melinda Doolittle , Carly Smithson , Brooke White , Jason Castro , Sanjaya Malakar , Syesha Mercado , Mandisa, Ace Young, Michael Johns , Justin Guarini and Diana DeGarmo were among the many ‘Idol’ present for the event.
