Actress Brittany Murphy dies at 32, rest in peace. That is all I want to say. We don't know the reasons, we just don't know what some people have to go through in life.
All I want to say is that she was an excellent actress and was too young to die.

Oh gee, I really want the 2010 cycling season to start as soon as possible so I can stop blogging so much about the idiots that have put us all through this financial mess.It is unlikely that I will stop completely though, since everyday there's something new to discuss in the bloggosphere that the main stream media doesn't care to report nor to talk about. You know, keeping secrets, manipulation and corruption of the government and the main stream media is something that needs to be addressed.

Before you watch the video, let me tell you something: "Ben Bernanke IS God", for now, to the banksters and Wall Street, and he will be their God until he cannot continue to perform 'financial miracles'.

But blogging about Lance Armstrong and Alberto Contador feud hopefully will take my mind -for few moments- away from God Bernanke and the Messiah.

Your favorite cycling movie could be only about cycling or it could be a drama, horror, science fiction, comedy, love, suspense or fantasy movie that includes a cycling event of some sort, a cyclist character, or anything about cycling that you liked a lot for whatever reason.

In my case, all cycling movies are especial, even if cycling is not the main theme of the story, I just love any movie that includes cycling or cyclists.
But tonight I have to vote for "Ladri Di Biciclette", one of the best cycling movies ever made, in my own personal opinion.
PART 1

"The film tells the story of Antonio Ricci, an unemployed man in the depressed post-World War II economy of Italy. With no money and a wife and two children to support, he is desperate for work. He is delighted to at last get a good job hanging up posters, but on the sole condition that he has a bicycle which must be used for work. He is told unequivocally: "No bicycle, no job." His wife Maria pawns their bedsheets in order to get money to redeem his bicycle from the pawnbroker.

Early on in the film, Ricci's coveted bicycle is stolen by a bold young thief who snatches it when he is hanging up a poster.

Antonio thinks that the police will take the theft very seriously, but they are not really interested in the petty theft of a bike. The only option is for Antonio and his friends to walk the streets of Rome themselves, looking for the bicycle. After trying for hours with no luck, they finally give up and leave."

Economy talk can be boring for some but if you listen to Max Keiser, I promise you, you won't be bored at all. I guarantee you that you will learn about economy, finances and at the same time, you will have a great time listening to his very intelligent and hilarious way he has to explain how the Theoclassical Economics  ( A religious system that worships greed) works now days, in other words, Market Fundamentalism where people are willing to die for it.
Typical examples of the current Theoclassical Economics, Ben Bernanke, Alan Greenspan, Geithner, Obama, Goldman Sachs, more "banksters" and many more in Wall Street.

Barack Obama and Pelosi better hurry up Congress to pass Obamacare (better known as "Health Care for all") otherwise they are going to be extremely busy next year trying to reform not only the "failed" American health care system but also the failed American housing system.

Some Americans are now starting to claim that not only access to health care is a basic human right, but also access to decent housing.

I wonder, isn't access to food and water MORE of a basic human right than health care and housing? If we don't eat and drink water we get sick and die!. I would tell Obama and Co. to pass first and foremost access to food and water (free diet coke would be nice too, thanks!)

I don't have to say it again, I know I have said it a million times, I LOVE CYCLING WITH ALL MY LIFE, but I hate time trials...there I said it. Don't get me wrong though. I do love to watch the pros do the time trials, go fast like the wind from the start to the end, fast cadence -Lance Armstrong style- or slower but hard cadence -Jan Ulrich style-. They look so good on their outfits and the position on the bike. But I don't find this cycling category very exciting for me, maybe because I am just not that good at it.

I am what you would call an endurance cyclist and a climber, and I am good at it, oh yes. Love the long kilometers and the pain I have to endure to get to the finish. And climbing to me, represents the suffering my muscles have to go through to get to the top, but when there, the joy is simply overpowering.

Reason why I hate time trials (for me)

1. Most of the time the distance is really short (unless you are competing in the Tour de France where the TTs can be 40 to 60 kms)
2. Most of the distance to ride is flat. No excitement there.
3. The time trial bike is kind of uncomfortable for a shorty like me.

Watching the pro-cyclists ride though, it's a flabbergasting experience for my eyes.

Almost one year since President Barack Obama came into power and so far, nothing has changed, at least, not for the better. And even though the main stream media of all over the world tries to hide the truth, it is practically impossible to continue this charade of lies, especially when there are so many people eager to tell the whole world about the reality of the economic disaster that STILL is going on.


Nothing has changed with President Obama. More troopers will be sent to Afghanistan, more civilians will be killed, more children and elderly people will die, he is just continuing the bloody wars that keep hurting the economy and the spirit of the humans involved in it. Unemployment keeps rising and poverty increasing, retail stores keep closing their doors and the GDP is deteriorating.

What has changed? ..... nothing has.

Presidents Barack Obama, Felipe Calderon and Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, say the same thing about the economies of their countries (United States, Mexico, England) every time they give a speech about the financial "recovery" and "the green shoots".
I wonder, do these political figures get the same memo every morning? Do other Presidents and Prime Ministers also get the same memo?
I don't know about you, my faithful readers, but my patience has reached its limits. These politicians must really think that the population of the world they govern is full of idiots who are incapable of thinking nor reasoning. Do they really believe their own lies or do they just say whatever they have to say so they can convince the masses of their "benevolence" while, at the same time, they plan the best way to how to become richer and more powerful themselves.

These times are no joke. This is not a mild financial crisis going on. The smart one, the thinker, the one who likes to analyze, the independent, the one with a curious mind, the researcher, the learner, the one who plans ahead and does not accept with blind eyes all what these political shysters tell us day by day, will definitely come out of this economic turmoil alive and well, healthier and stronger than ever.

It's not a secret that Catholic priests from all over the world have violated innocent children through out decades, and it was only until recently that charges of sexual abuse were brought up against them, not only in the United States, but also in Mexico, Canada, Ireland, Australia and many other countries.

Not only the churches and the Vatican itself covered up the pedophilia, but now the Irish police has been exposed to have participated in the cover up.



One thing I would like to mention. Pedophilia is one of the most horrible crimes committed against humanity, not only by Catholic priests but by any other religious groups, non-religious groups, atheists, by family members, by strangers, any race, any country, the rich, the poor, the educated, the uneducated.
Unfortunately, pedophiles are involved in any sector of all societies on earth, and I always dream of the day when we could live in a world completely free of these sick perverts.

Would the CIA or the FBI kill me if I oppose the atrocities that the government of the United States has committed through out the years around the world fighting stupid wars and meddling in other countries problems?
Maybe not. I'm just a small blogger, my blog doesn't have tons of Internet traffic, I have never written popular songs that became world wide famous, like Imagine. Now, what about John Lennon? He was a real threat to Nixon and to the continuation of the Vietnam war, wasn't he? John Lennon was big, I'm a small potato.

I have come to a point where I just cannot take anymore all the American "war" talk that has been going on for so long. It is simply insufferable! That is all I hear, war on drugs, war against terrorism, war against this and that, and if there is nothing to fight against, the American government invents it! They just want a reason to be on war ALL the time.

I am tired of being nice, tired of being quiet, not saying anything fearing that people won't like me anymore for being against what's so popular right now: war, hate, racism.
Don't take me wrong though. I have NOTHING against the American people themselves, it's the war culture that has been promoted and the policies of the US government I'm against and totally detest.

So, from now on, don't expect me to be politically correct anymore. I will say what I have to say no matter what, and that includes my total rejection to:

war (promoted by any country in the world)
racism,
fanaticism of any kind (religion fanatics, atheism fanatics, etc.),
animal and human abuse,
cycling haters,
government involvement in health care-socialized medicine (Obamacare)
communism, socialism
...and more topics I have in mind.

Of course, I will still blog about my other favorite LIVINGSTRONG topics, which are, professional cycling racing, healthy habits and wellness in general.

But for now, political correctness has left this blog.

Today is Happy LIVINGSTRONG Friday, a time for laughing and relaxing, a time to put all the problems in a bubble and let them fly away from us, all the way into the vast universe.

When I'm on my bicycle -7 days a week- I feel like this boy, I have so much fun. Cycling is for me not only a form of exercising, frankly, CYCLING IS MY LIFE!

Undoubtedly, the US population is getting poorer and hungrier as the financial recession deepens, and as a consequence of this, more people go to bed hungry.
The United States Department of Agriculture has released new data that shows that almost 50 million people struggled last year to put enough food at their table.
As poverty and unemployment rise, Americans have more difficulty to have access to food. As a result of this, 1 out of 4 children go hungry everyday in the United States, and this numbers are expected to worsen in 2010 when the 2009 report comes out.
"This is unthinkable. It's like we are living in a Third World country," said Vicki Escarra, president of Feeding America, the largest organization representing food banks and other emergency food sources.

"Our network food banks are calling us every day, telling us that demand for emergency food is higher than it has ever been in our history," said Escarra.

Vilsack said that "Shortages of food would be much worse without the government programs. Just more than half of the people surveyed who reported they had food shortages said that they had, in the previous month, participated in one of the government's largest anti-hunger and nutrition programs: food stamps, subsidized school lunches or WIC, the nutrition program for women with babies or young children."
Just like I said in one of my past blog posts, this financial depression is going to be different from that of the 1929. Great Depression 1929: soup lines VS Greatest Depression 2009: food stamps.


 

Want to live a longer-healthier life? Keep it simple, everything you do in your life, at work, with your family, even when you choose what to eat, keep it simple.

Eating over-processed food is damaging to your metabolism. The fresher the food you eat the healthier it is.
Do you want potato chips, re-fried beans, rice? Make them yourself. It is cheaper and healthier, with no preservatives and way less salt ingredients.

Let's put it this way: If it doesn't spoil fast, then don't eat it.

Staying healthy is very important for us not only not to be over weight or to avoid diseases like diabetes, hypertension, etc, but also to bring positive energy into our lives. Feeling good is not only about expecting others to say hello to us, it's much more than that and so simple:

1) Avoid Anxiety
2) Do not over eat
3) Exercise at least 4 times a week
4) Eat healthy
5) Have fun in everything you do in life.

Hateful xenophobic Lou Dobbs is quitting his contract with CNN as of today. This contract was supposed to end until 2011, but CNN President, Jon Klein, said in a statement, "Lou has now decided to carry the banner of advocacy journalism elsewhere. We respect his decision."

Well, hate sells and sells a lot, probably as much as sex does, who knows, but I am sure that if he got a better salary offer from another TV Network he will be working for, he will increase their ratings and earnings as well.
I wonder what network is getting in bed with him...Fox News maybe?

It's too bad that some people crave for this type of cheap entertainment. Hate infects ones brain and soul, hate brings disaster and pain, hate sickens, shortens the haters life. Hate, is never good.

1. As long as there is a market for hate, there will be work for bitter "journalists"
2. As long as there is a market for undocumented immigrants, they will keep on entering the United States illegally.
3. As long as there is a market for drugs in the US, the drugs will keep on rolling in my friends.

Let me make it clear for once and for all:

1. If you don't want hate, do not listen to hateful individuals who rejoice on hurting others with their words.
2. If you don't want "the Mexicans" in the US, DO NOT HIRE THEM!
3. If you don't want a country with drug lords next to yours...DO NOT DO DRUGS!

It's funny. I just published last week a post in this blog about Lou Dobbs, and now he's leaving CNN. What a coincidence, or not?

This is great news and proves that the 2010 professional cycling season is going to be exhilarating. Just for starters, we will have Cadel Evans VS Lance Armstrong, then, several cycling races, then the Giro and so on. Can't wait for 2010!

Halloween makes us talk about horror movies, scary masks, trick or treats and whatnot. I, personally, like horror movies very very much, from The Exorcist to Jigsaw, Halloween to The Massacre of Texas, Silence of the Lambs to Jeepers Creepers. Have seen them all, enjoy them all.

One horror movie that has never been filmed in its entirety is CLEAVER, a fictional "movie to be" created by the known mobster Christopher Moltisanti, nephew of Tony Soprano and part of the crime Italian mafia THE SOPRANOS, a successful HBO TV series that lasted 6 seasons.
In CLEAVER, Jonathan LaPaglia stars as the "Cleaver" and Daniel Baldwin as the Mob Boss "Sally Boy,"  His vision was realized with the help of Screenwriter JT Dolan, Producer Carmine Lupertazzi, and up-and-coming Director Morgan Yam.

Well, The Sopranos itself has tons of horrorific killings, assesinations, deception, suspense and drama. I own all the 6 seasons and just watched the episode where Christopher finally presented the premiere for his Hollywood movie CLEAVER.

Happy Halloween everyone, don't get too spooked, last Friday's was too scary enough with the FDIC closing 9 banks in the US, three banks in CA, three in Texas, two in Illinois and one in Arizona!

I collect all kind of cycling videos, grand tours, cycling classic races, cycling Olympics, local cycling rides or races, funny ones, cycling crashes, anything related to cycling.

I happened to come across with this video that I have in one of my archives and which compiles several funny cycling moments, making the 4:17 minutes that it lasts, very enjoyable. I just feel sorry for the doggy when the cyclist and the dog collide -at 3:56-, but thank goodness nothing happened to the doggy...nor the rider.
