As Bar 42 was transformed back into the roman era, students from across all eight campuses pulled off their bed sheets to join in.

To welcome our new Edgbaston freshers, Birmingham City Students' Union put on a Silent Disco in Walkabout on Broad Street. Starting off in the Lounge, our very own Gish Abeyratne met freshers and freshers crews and set off for Walkabout.

We've gone through 3 heats, 2 semi-finals and alot of raffle prizes! Yes, we reached the Finals of Birmingham City's Got Talent. Cutting Agents, Samantha Wheeler, Mathew Frost and The Epics have battled it out to reach this point and now there can only be one winner! Hockey at BCU is a recreational and competitve game. The team plays and practices at Birmingham City's very own Pavillion, and have frequent social nights out on Wednesdays.

Heat 2 at the Village Inn bought us three new acts; a dancer, an acoustic band and two rappers. Nitesh warmed up the crowd with his dance, the Cutting Agents played their acoustic set followed by Babak and Reza who drew the night to a close with their rapping songs.

Space Carnage landed in Broad Street on the 18th March 2009 letting lose some crazy characters into Birmingham. We had extra terrestrial visits from the likes of Jedi's, Star Trek officers and even that big digestive biscuit in the sky - Oz! With the final destination as Gatecrasher, the night was sent on a course through Walkabout, Risa, Sports Cafe and Oh' Velvet!

Guru Gash and the Quids, Miss E Laneous and Adam compete against each other in the first heat of Birmingham City's Got Talent at Bar 42.
Guru Gash and the Quids started the night with a rocked-up cover of Grease Lightening, followed by Sex On Fire by Miss E Laneous. Finally, Adam finished off the night with Paradym Shift.

...but who won a place to the Semi Finals? Who won the crate of Red Bull and bottle of Vodka? and who went home empty handed?
