Good morning, hunk lovers! I was surprised and delighted this morning when an interesting search result appeared in my Google Alerts for Hunk du Jour. This handsome fellow, Love Harnell, is creating a new jingle each day for fun and some pocket cash - and the advertising network I'm a member of, ModUrban Media, signed up for one. Hunk du Jour as well as the fabulous site Greg in Hollywood get big shout-outs. (I thought maybe it was because Towleroad is tough to rhyme... but it looks like they signed up for tomorrow's jingle.) It's fun, and I've never been part of a jingle before so I guess I can check that off my list now... thanks, LoveJingles!

There's a very fine line between homophobia and total fagginess, and the entire Phelps family has been right on the edge. (I've always thought of mom Shirley Phelps as the Liza Minelli of hate speech.) Anyway, this time I think the Phelps daughters have passed the point of no return by recording a Lady Gaga parody song, cleverly entitled Whorish Face. You can tell they're having the time of their culty lives! The song could use better production, but with a little remixing, I think these girls have a club hit on their hands. Watch out Kim Zolciak-- there's a new novelty song in town! (For those curious to know more about the Phelps girls, the first part of Louis Theroux's documentary about the family is after the jump. I haven't heard anything new from Canadian rocker Bryan Adams since "Don't Give Up," his fantastic collaboration with British trance artist Chicane back in 2000. And I never bought a single one of his records back in his '80s heyday. But I would be lying if I didn't admit that nothing gets me giddier than hearing one of his hit songs in a restaurant or on the radio, which I why I finally broke down and bought his "So Far So Good" greatest hits disc, a purchase that has left me smiling from ear to ear since I dragged it onto my iPod. It's hard to believe I used to MOAN uncontrollably when his masterpiece, "Cuts Like a Knife," would come on MTV back in the summer of '82. In my defense, though, it was one of about three videos they had at the time (I used to react similarly when Haircut 100, Squeeze and Nick Lowe would come on!!!). Still, watching the video now it almost seems impossible to believe that "too much of a good thing" could ever apply to this pop classic. Well, well, well! A musical group by the name of "Audio Playground" has recorded a "ballad" version of Erasure's classic 1980s anthem, A Little Respect. Imagine that you're a blogger -- you've woken up and taken a shower, and set out to do your 5:00AM rounds on the internet to see what happened overnight. This was the first thing you came across. I've seen bits and pieces of this video from Tyler Shields trickle out on his YouTube channel... but wow what a difference when they are all tied together into this frantic explosion from his head.
