Remember this Deal Breaker?
This commercial affected more then just old Nick Drake fans (mostly those who consider themselves music critics). This didn't mark the fall of the musical sell outs (later came the dreaded Bob Dylan/Victoria Secrets rukus), but it marked the pivotal moment when ads became something more then marketing schemes. They became expressions of wishes and desires. One full minute of wistful fantasies played out through clever graphics and interesting camera angles. Attack of the Polish Origami Dogs
As you may have figured, I am currently obsessed with animation. I can't help it. I have insomnia and Vimeo gives me reason to have that extra sip of cappuccino (like it's 1993). This video has the shittiest music, but the visuals her pinata shoes are inspiration for my skates graphics. Can't do roll-bounce without the candy toes.Collected in sauvinyaundra's videos Oct 23, 2009 -
Google Maps Road Trip
Dan Meth brings the digital iroadtrip to vimeo. His kitchy stop-motion animated short features the street level view of a syncopated American journey through the byways and highways of a midwestern countryside. I'm from so. California, so all the hick shit is fascinating to me. I dated a bible belter recently just to catch a glimpse into the great unknown (did once, it was quite fleeting). Regardless, let Dan Meth (his real name?) show you the surveilled Arcadia of America. Fucking Deeelightful!Collected in sauvinyaundra's videos Oct 23, 2009 -
