Malcolm Gladwell - Outliers
An hour to watch these videos or a few dollars and a few days to read a book might seem like too much work for a young person. Fast forward 10, 20, 30 years and you see the same people attending "How to be Successful" seminars and browsing the self-help section and attempting to read a whole book for free instead of buying a few. I hear what you say and I want to quit school – what should I do?
Do you feel like this student?

I read your book. I don't want to be sitting in a classroom where I'm treated like a machine and trained for the Industrial Age. I want to quit school. I don't intend to stop learning, I want to read and visit all parts of the world but I don't want to sit in the classroom anymore.

While many people are making predictions about the direction that education systems are headed, they have found the best predictors to be hidden in the participative viral systems springing to life in the online world, such as iTunes and Amazon.

These bottom-up approaches (organic!) are quick to develop, participant-driven systems that are closely aligned to the demands of the marketplace.

Futurist Thomas Frey and the members and associated research teams of DaVinci Institute collaborated on this research study. In this paper they focussed on the key missing elements that will cause the disruptive next generation education systems to emerge.
