The Xperia X10
Sony Ericsson is set to release the Xperia X10 touch screen super phone sometime near Valentine's Day 2010. This tech beast is set to feature an 8.1 mega pixel camera with video recording capabilities & a flash to boot. Also include will be face recognition; which means the phone will recognize familiar faces from pictures & stores them under the appropriate contacts. Anyone who's familiar with the Android OS will be happy to know that it will come with the latest & greatest version (Android 2.0). When this phone is released it could be a major blow to the egos of the iPhone, Motorola Droid, & HTC Hero. As of now there is no said carrier for the device but I'm sure news will arise soon. Features: 8.1 mega pixel camera Face recognition Photo light & flash Photo Geo-tagging Image stabilizer Smile detection technology Video recording capabilities Media player Web browsing GPS Android 2.0 1GB internal memory (upgraded with memory cards) ....could this be the next Starkphone?!

Lady Gaga is obscure, she knows it, we know it...& I like it. Lady Gaga - Bad Romance
Days of Our Lives
So, I've been sifting through a lot of my beats (oh yeah, I make music if you didn't know) & I found one that I made back in 2006 thats still one of my favorites. I use to let this track play to zone out to. I remember, I would lay on the couch & maybe close my eyes. To me its the kind of music you hear & think about a journey across the world....like maybe from the vantage point of an eagle. Soar over the pyramids of Egypt, sweep down into the Red Sea, float across the slums of China...it takes me across the whole world. I've let others hear it & its given them a completely different feel, but thats one of the things I love about music....it allows me to express myself in any way I want yet someone could understand it on a different level entirely.....Maybe I should dig in the stash & share more often. Thinking of Dilla
J Dilla (Jay Dee) is known to me & many others as one of the best Hip Hop producers of all time if not the absolute best. He fathered so many styles in the game that it ain't even funny. From his crispy sharp snares to the ethereal melodies & raw off synced notes, his presence is definitely felt to those who know what's good. This video was put together after Dilla passed away from a blood disease (& complications from Lupus) in 2006, the track is featured on his The Shining album. The video features cameos from his fellow comrades such as Common, Talib Kweli, Black Thought of The Roots, & Will.I.Am of The Black Eyed Peas. The Dilla stand in is actually Jay Dee's younger brother John Yancey. Big up to Jay Dilla for not only helping to birth a production style in urban music but for his creativity as a whole. We still miss you nigga, Rest in peace! James Dewitt Yancey: 2/7/74 - 2/10/06

Prelude to The Believer
Common is going back to his Hip Hop roots on his upcoming 9th album The Believer (no release date yet) working with Chi Town producers No ID, Kanye West & Twilite Tone. Can't wait to hear this one Com'....Universal Mind Control was nice & kinda reminded me of Electric Circus, but I need to hear that realness!.....thanx!
The Powermat
Powermat allows you to charge various electronic devices without using power cords. All you do is lay the device onto the Powermat & it automatically charges it for you...with no chords. The only thing I'm not sure about are the "cases" you put the devices in. I mean, couldn't I just plug my phone up to its chord just as fast? Still, I see what they're getting at & this is definitely a great idea & an innovative step for technology. Check out the products & info at

Only Built For The Realest
Raekwon The Chef did it again with Only Built For Cuban Linx 2 (OB4CL2)!! Please give a round of applause to real Hip Hop while your at it...I think this album is what Hip Hop really needed right now, because it definitely doesn't sound like anything else you hear on the radio. OB4CL2 is like a residual feeling of the first Cuban Linx album. Rae & company were able to take you back to a certain era in Hip Hop where the underground sound was "the" sound of Hip Hop, yet at the same time the album still feels relevant/modern & true to the sound of his Wu-Tang brethren. This is definitely a Hip Hop classic AND a Wu classic....I may have to redo my fave Wu-Tang list over now (hmmmm).....
Over Age Drinking
...what's really goin' on here? I think there are some issues goin' on. I mean if kids were suppose to determine when they would be done breast feeding, we'd see a WHOLE lot of grown men still at mama's house!!
Dan Blank: Shadowplay
In August of 1945 Japan suffered nuclear attacks in Hiroshima (140,000 dead) & Nagasaki (80,000 dead) by the U.S. bringing a close to World War II. The atomic bombs caused death by instant incineration & flash burns, others eventually died of radiation sickness, cancer, & leukemia. The impact of the bombings were so powerful that the radiation caused a flash & shadow images of people were forever left on buildings & streets just before their deaths like pictures. Dan Blank's stop animation short Shadowplay (created in 2002) shows the story of a little boy's shadow (Akio) as he wonders around the town looking for his family & making sense of what has just happened: From The Director: "These are the reflex images I think of when there is talk of nuclear threats or weapons of mass destruction. Like chalk outlines at a crime scene, the faceless poses make me realize, “This could have been anyone, anywhere.” For someone who never lived through World War II or the Atomic Age, the shadows are a timeless, unforgettable portrayal of life stopping." Shadowplay: "Best Short" in the 2002 Los Angeles Film Festival Bronze in the 2002 Student Academy Award Gold in the 2003 Student Emmy Award
