Sarah Palin quit a book signing event before she had signed all the books, and people who waited on line for hour and hours were not please. From Think Progress: People who didn’t get to meet Palin “went home only with a piece of paper with Palin’s signature.” Video from the event shows angry wristband-holders loudly booing Palin and yelling, “Sign our books!” and “Quittin’ on the job!” read more... UPDATE I: DKTV has more video/news clips: As both Kevin K. and Dave Weigel noted earlier today, Sarah Palin angered and disappointed fans in Noblesville, Indiana yesterday when she abruptly left a book signing promotion even though there were many fans still waiting in line to receive her signature on their newly purchased copies of Going Rogue.Here’s a video compilation of reaction from fans stiffed by Palin broadcast by local Indiana news outlets: Evidently, Plain apologized to her Indiana fanatics through her Facebook page: "I've been told that yesterday there were supporters in Noblesville who stood in long lines for hours in the cold and rain, and the book signing event ended without a chance to say hello to everyone who showed up. I am so sorry. We are working on a solution for those who were left behind. I apologize." Why Are So Many Media Conservatives So Obsessed With Rape?
That's what Media Matters is asking: Conservative commentators such as Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Michael Savage frequently employ rape metaphors when discussing progressives or progressive policies. For example, Beck said that New Yorkers are "being raped by [their] government," while Limbaugh, during a discussion of health care, told his listeners: "Get ready to get gang-raped again. read ALL about their rape obsessions: http://mediamatters.org/research/200911190048 var addthis_pub="thejoshuablog";

Fox "News" Caught Using Old Sarah Palin Footage For Palin's Current Book Tour Crowds by Think Progress (UPDATED)
These idiots just don't learn. Think Progress caught Fox "news" using old footage to make crowds look bigger than they are...again. This time, it was for Sarah Palin's books tour crowds. You would think after Jon Stewart Caught them doing this last week they'd be a little gun shy, but no. This is Fox "news" we're talking about. This afternoon, Fox News host Gregg Jarrett proudly announced that Sarah Palin is “continuing to draw huge crowds while she’s promoting her brand new book. Take a look at — these are some of the pictures just coming into us.” But the pictures that the network chose to display on-air appeared to be old file footage of Palin rallies from the 2008 presidential campaign. Individuals in the crowd are seen holding McCain/Palin signs, and others are holding pom-poms and cheering wildly. “There’s a crowd of folks,” an enthused Jarrett observed, referring to the old footage. var addthis_pub="thejoshuablog";Media Matters offers, More proof that Fox ran fake video of Palin's book-tour "crowds": Here's a screenshot of the footage of one of the rallies that Fox's Gregg Jarrett showed today and claimed was "just coming into us" as part of the book tour: And here's a photo posted last year by Florida TV station CFNews 13 of a November 1, 2008, Palin rally in Ocala, Florida: And here's a video of that same rally that TPM posted way back in 2008 -- when it actually happened. Here's my Jon Stewart post from last weeks: Fox "News" & Sean Hannity Caught Using Beck's Protest Footage As Bachmann's by Jon Stewart (UPDATED w/ Hannity's Response): Boing! Jon Stewart catches Fox News and Sean Hannity using old footage to make last weeks protest seem much bigger than it was. Extreme Revisionism: Rep. Virginia Foxx Says It Was *Republicans* Who Were Responsible For 1964 Civil Rights Act
One of the most racist, xenophobic and moronic members of the House Reppublican caucus, Rep. Virginia Foxx, just took to the floor to declare: Republicans ‘Passed Civil Rights Bills Back In The 60s Without Very Much Help’ From Democrats No, really. This one is just mind-blowing! You see, it's THE REPUBLICANS who are the progressives in her delusional little world. An apalled Rep. Dennis Cardoza took to the floor to take this vicious, lying southern piece of shit own. From Think Progress: During a debate on the House floor today over designating 21 miles of the Molalla River as “wild and scenic,” Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), who opposes the legislation, tried to claim a progressive environmental record for her party. “Actually, the GOP has been the leader in starting good environmental programs in this country,” said Foxx. Foxx then extended her claims of the GOP’s progressive history to the issue of civil rights. “Just as we were the people who passed the civil rights bills back in the ’60s without very much help from our colleagues across the aisle,” said Fox. “They love to engage in revisionist history.” When Foxx finally yielded her time on the floor, Rep. Dennis Cardoza (D-CA) passionately rebuked her: Foxx’s claim that Republicans were the real engine behind the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is a common notion among conservatives. But as Cardoza points out, it was President Lyndon Johnson who “choreographed passage of this historic measure in 1964.” In fact, the Republican presidential candidate in 1964, Sen. Barry Goldwater (R-AZ), voted against the legislation. read more....var addthis_pub="thejoshuablog"; This thing has a long history of outrageous statements and mind-numbingly stupid revisionist history: Obama Exaggerating The Numbers On Uninsured Americans” Says GOP’er Foxx Rep. Sen. Leahy Rubs Sen. Sessions' Nose In Civil War Defeat
TPM posted this video yesterday from the Judiciary Committee hearing on the 9/11 trials, terrorism and the Fort Hood shooting. In it, Sens. Patrick Leahy riffed on Senator Jeff Sessions about losing the civil war. Anyone who knows Session's history, understands why this was so funny. [...] Sens. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) and Jeff Sessions (R-AL) finally settled an old score. After Sessions cited Civil War Gen. Ulysses S. Grant in his opening remarks, Leahy said, "I must admit, Sen. Sessions, that I'm delighted to hear someone from Alabama quote, approvingly, Ulysses S. Grant and Abraham Lincoln. The world has come full circle." "And they were winners, too," Sessions responded. "Well, I appreciate that acknowledgment too," Leahy said. "We probably best leave this one alone." read more...var addthis_pub="thejoshuablog";
Headzup Video: Rudy Giuliani Explains Republican Cowardice
New video from headzup (via their DKos a/c) of Rudy Guiliani explaining why the GOPis so afraid of having Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's trial in NYC: John Boehner cowered. Karl Rove quaked. Bill O'Reilly whimpered that he doesn't care about the Constitution. But none could sum up the right wing cowardice greater than Mr. 9-11 himself, Rudy Giuliani. Take a look. And don't even get them started on holding terrorist suspects in our prisons. Beck Compares Democrats To Rapist Roman Polanski
Hey, at least were not Nazi's (today)! From TPM:You may have thought that conservatives had mastered the art of attacking Democratic health care reform proposals. But conservative Fox News host Glenn Beck proved last night that there's always more to learn, comparing the Obama initiative to child rapist Roman Polanski. "We're the young girl saying, 'No no! Help me!' and the government is Roman Polanski. In the end I think we're all going to be cowering in France."read more...var addthis_pub="thejoshuablog";
Even Lou Dobbs Won't Vote For Sarah Palin in 2012
