" ~Tenneva Jordan that's true!mothers just love their children they have to sacrifice for themselves...they always see to it that her children are properly taken cared of...it makes me remember my mother who passed away last september, 27,2009 because of liver cirrochis. nanay sinta, as she was fondly called was a devoted mother for us.she woke up as early as 4 am. to do the household chores and prepare foods for us.when we woke up everything was already prepared... she celebrated her last birthday at 65 last august 17,2009(40 days before her demise).we just had a small salo salo at home and she requested a tinolang native na manok. and when it was time for us to eat,she did not get a plate immediately.she asked if all my siblings were already at home."asa si raul"?...si marife naa na"?...si noel unya pa to,bilini ha"...she only started eating when we assured her that all my brothers and sisters were already there. today is the 40 days of her demise and memories of her flashed in my mind.i had always been close to nanay.i will miss her law -uy. a broiled vegetables composed of malungay,alugbate,kalabasa,okra,talong with fried fish. her own version of the simple pork chop ,pinaksiw and tinolang isda were superb. now that she is gone,i still cook law -uy...she had planted some malungay,lemon grass and eggplant in our garden and i just pick some of it... the following songs also reminded me of her.these songs were played during the necrological service. yehey! meron na talagang magandang plaza ang gensan!actually september 4 pa ng gabi ito naopen which was very crowded.napakaraming tao ang pumunta.kasagsagan kasi yun ng tuna festival celebration ng siyudad.at siguro na miss din ng mga tao ang plaza after about a year of renovation. matagal tagal din bago tayo nagkaroon ng presentableng plaza.nagtaka nga ako...maunlad naman ang gensan.e kung ang koronadal nga ,kahit di pa ito city noon, ang ganda na ng plaza nila.dati, everytime na dadaan ako sa plaza(carlos garcia park pa to noon),i said to myself"this one need improvements."kasi ,i believe na ito ang pinakaimportanteng landmark ng isang siyudad.kasi makikita mo dito ang ibat ibang tao from all walks of life.at nasa harap din ito ng city hall. di naman natin masisi ang ating mayor kung medyo natagalan ang pagrenovate ng park.malaking budget daw ang kailangan kaya pinag ipunan ito,umaatikabong 34 milyon!.and that is just the first phase of the total makeover.meron pa palang kasunod like fountains,ampitheatre and portable toilets.wow! ang gara na nun. ngayon sa tuwing daraan ako sa bagong parke ,di ko talaga maiwasan mapatulala (joke!)i mean di ko talaga maiwasang mapatingin.napakarami talagang pumupunta dun lalo na kung hapon.(nagrhyme ah). in fairness,nakapasyal na rin ako sa bagong plaza,gabi nga lang kasi may trabaho sa araw.but take note!ang ganda rin ng plaza sa gabi.look... at lubos- lubosan nyo na. watch this amateur video i took during that night. My adrenaline rushed when i read bariles' post about the Air Supply Live in Gensan Concert.Omg!This is it!This is really is it!I can't help to be excited because the famous soft rock duo Russel Hitchcock and Graham Russel are my all- time favorite singers. I have been an avid fan of the Air Supply even before we didn't have a music player.That was in 1981,(i was in grade six then) when our neighbor constantly played air supply songs in their astron music karaoke,i was just so in loved to all their songs until i noticed that i was already coming to their house everyday.Minsan di nila alam na nandun ako kasi nasa silong lang ako ng bahay nila! kuntento na basta marinig ko lang ang malamig na boses ng Air Supply. When i was in high school ,I made a short poem about music entitled Sweet Melody.I was inspired by the romantic songs of Air Supply.The poem was published in our School Paper,THE RANCHER wherein i was one of the editorial staff.I also got a kick out of the lyrics of Air Supply songs I had to write some of them in the back pages of my diary .Until now i still have it.(Click image to enlarge) And then came the time in 1990 that I already had a sony cassette player and the very first album I ever bought was Making Love...The Very Best Of Air Supply.To my delight,i even brought the cassette player to the beauty parlor where i worked.And repeatedly played the tape while fixing hair. CD,DVD,MP3 and IPOD replaced cassette tape a few years later.I had to create Air Supply playlist in my PC..Most of my friends like Air Supply too.Siguro nahawa na sila sa akin kasi palagi kong binibida ang air supply.At pag nagkatuwaan sa videoke, Air Supply songs pa rin ang kinakanta ko.Kesehodang di masyado kagandahan ang boses ko. omg!air supply is coming to town!i felt my adrenaline rushed when i read bariles' post about it.i am really excited to watch them perform live on october 2,2009 at 8:00 pm in lagao gym,general santos city. i have been a fan of the air supply even before we didn't have a radio and television.that was in 1983 when our neighbor constantly played air supply songs in their music karaoke,i was just so in loved to all their songs until i noticed that i was already coming to their house everyday. then came the day sometimes in 1990 when i already had a sony cassette player.and you know what? my first cassette tape album i ever bought was making love...the very best of air supply.i really love all the songs in the album:lost in love,even the nights are better,the one that you love,every woman in the world,two less lonely people in the world,chances,making love out of nothing at all,out of love,here i am,sweet dreams,keeping the love alive and now and forever. i have many memories of air supply songs:keeping the love alive...this song i sang in my english 3 (oral communication)in college.well,it was not the voice that weighed but the diction.i want to give it all...i am not gifted with good voice but i can sing a tune and during gimik time with friends,this song first come to mind when picking a song.lost in love...oh i, was nearly lost myself in shame when i sang this song during the jamming portion of a favorite bar in calumpang.here's a video of lost in love. here's a little bit of information about air supply . we hear songs everyday and this songs just remind us of something else or someone else...i think it's about time to update my posts about my music and memories series...this time it's a song from melissa manchester entitled if this is love.i tuned my fm radio to MOR this morning while  doing hair works to my clients and the song left me  memories from my high school days in general santos city high school..i remember my schoolmate reggie villanueva.she used to sing that song during school programs.she has a wonderful voice like rachel ann go and everytime  she sang ,the students would always request for that song...uhow i wish i have a wonderful voice too so that i can also sing this song in videoke...well if nobody listen, i will.(lol)what about you? do you like the song?

gensan's pride boxing champ Manny Pacquiao has now a new career,a comedian via the sitcom Show Me Da Manny which promises to be the wackiest and most hilarious weekly comedy TV show as it showcases the comic skills of the “Pambansang Kamao.” The sitcom is shown every Sunday night after “All Star K! on GMA-7! Show Me Da Manny” is the story of an amateur boxing champ named Manny Santos (Manny Pacquiao) who runs a boxing gym called “Gym Santos” which he inherited from his parents. Suddenly, a new, sophisticated and modern gym called “Gym Paredes Fitness Center” opened nearby, and it is owned by Ella Paredes (Marian Rivera). Check out the full trailer of the highly-anticipated drama “In My Life” starring the box-office king John Lloyd Cruz, Luis Manzano and the star for all seasons, Vilma Santos. i'm excited to watch the movie because of the following reasons: 1.it's the comeback movie of vilma santos after 5 years.my last vilma santos movie i watched was mano po 3:my love in 1994. 2.the first tandem of mother and son .vilma claims that luis is better actor than edu manzano. 3.it's directed by one of my favorite directors olivia lamasan.her past directing jobs milan ang got 2 believe were box office hits. 4.it marks as first major gay-themed film from Star Cinema since “Ang Lalake sa Buhay ni Selya” in 1998 starring Rosanna Roces. John Lloyd Cruz and Luis Manzano will play a gay couple in the movie, their first role as such. And one of the higlights of the film is the controversial “kissing scene” between the two actors. the movie will be shown on september 16,2009.

the 58th miss universe 2009 pageant will be happening on august 23 (august 24 in philippines)at the atlantis paradise at Nassau,Bahamas.it will be shown on august 24, 8 pm at ABS-CBN and a pre pageant  9:30 am at RUFFA & AI(abs-cbn) our very own representative pamela bianca manalo received favorable comments in the preliminary competitions.will she make it to the top 15?and grab the miss universe crown? bianca has a big chance of winning.she has that look of a beauty queen.the likes of margie moran, gloria diaz and miriam quiambao not to mention her sister katherine anne manalo,miss world 2002 top 10 finalist and her auntie nini ramos,miss international 1968 top 15 semi-finalist. and she can be the miss photogenic...what do you think?if ever,she will the 8th miss philippines to have that title. look at this video...she's really great. i hope that the board of judges will notice that...in the past 10 years, most winners are from latin american countries and USA is always in the top 15.i hope this time asia will make it even in the semi finals. .in the preliminaries,philippines,indonesia,japan and india are doing great.but it all depends on the taste of the panel of judges.as all the contestants are already beauty queens themselves. i have made my top 15 candidates based on the preliminaries.i know its very early to say.anyway i'ts just a forecast.here they are in random order: MISS USA MISS COLOMBIA MISS BELGIUM MISS INDONESIA MISS CANADA MISS CZECH REPUBLIC MISS MEXICO MISS VENEZUELA MISS PUERTO RICO MISS PHILIPPINES MISS DOMINICAN REPUBLIC MISS FRANCE MISS CANADA MISS AUSTRALIA MISS GUATEMALA and my top 5 would be: miss indonesia,miss australia,miss usa,miss colombia and miss puerto rico,miss philippines well,lets just wait and see...
