Nov. 19, 2009 - Shawn Patrick Hefner, 22, of Hico, Texas; assigned to 2nd Amphibious Assault Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; died Nov. 13 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
Veterans Day Parade Dallas 11.11.09
At the 11th minute, of the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month Dallas kicked-off its annual Veterans Day parade down Main Street.
Thousands of participants and onlookers crowded downtown Dallas on a sunny mild weathered day. It was perfect weather as people began to find a position on the parade route. Members of the 1st Calvery of Fort Hood, TX were honored with leading the procession.
SSGT Shawn H McNabb Final Farewell 11.06.09
Funeral services for SSGT Shawn McNabb were held at First Baptist Church of Terrell, before heading to DFW National Cemetery. The funeral procession was escorted by the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders.

SSGT Shawn McNabb – Welcome Home Warrior, homecoming Nov. 4, 2009
Army SSGT. Shawn H. McNabb, 24, of Terrell, TX. died Oct. 26 of wounds suffered when the MH-47 helicopter he was aboard crashed in Darreh-ye Bum, Afghanistan. A grateful community welcomed their hometown hero home.

Lance Cpl. Robert “Tyler” Austin an Irish Farewell Tribute
Lance Corporal Robert “Tyler” Austin, 20, of Corinth, TX, was killed in a San Diego car accident the morning of October 10, 2009. Austin, a U.S. Marine stationed in Twenty-nine Palms had recently completed a tour in Iraq. He was buried today at DFW National Cemetery with full military honors and an Irish farewell.
